Well I just went and rewatched First Contact. I think I still would have missed that the uniform was a jumpsuit of not for the figure. It had been a long time since I saw the movie and this time I saw it with my son (his 1st time). I was actually surprised by how much he liked it. The pacing is so much slower than movies now a days.

I’m actually trying to figure out now- were all the DS9/VOY uniforms (the black bottoms with the department colored shoulder sections) one piece jumpsuits? It’s a bit hard to tell. Looking through some clips and they don’t seem to be one piece, but I didn’t think the movie uniforms were either.

Data looks a lot in my hands.

1.5-2 feet between camera and sculpt - this is the correct distance in viewing head.

Note: Camera only has one ?eye.? we have 2. Pictures taken closer than 1.5 feet will not be able to see the entire head; therefore, distorted (the closer to the camera lens, the bigger, like a bigger or wider nose)

Study your Trek material please.

Only Captains and higher ranks worn 2 pieces and the rest are all jumpsuits. This includes Voyager uniforms.

Captains Janeway had jumpsuits (full body shots) and a 2 piece (off jacket shots)

Is difficult to challenge me on uniforms accuracy at least at development stage. People at Starfleet Uniforms Club considered me as an adviser.

nanjin, your FC Data looks great! Haters gonna hate. I'm very excited for this line!

I've stepped away from 1/6 scale news for so long as I have been preoccupied with the NFL and fantasy football, but would anyone be good enough to catch me up on a couple things?

1) Is the QMx ST line officially dead now?
2) When will Sideshow refund our Scotty and Sulu pre-orders if the answer to 1) is, Yes?

maybe Nanjin had been pushed too much to show his first release that he hurried to publish, as he explained himself, a non-final version. He should be left alone to concentrate on his very good work and decide at ease when to show his new releases.

Really surprised people don't like those FC uniforms. I think Picard looks cool as hell in that shot above. And I thought the DS9 crew looked amazing as well when they started using them.

They may not be as iconic as the TNG uniforms, but it was still a nice upgrade over the simplistic early-DS9/VOY ones that kinda made everyone look like janitors. Lol

I believed you that the uniform was accurate. Just didn’t realize that some of the uniforms actually were one piece.

Any more pictures of the regular head? I'm not sure if I'll preorder it yet, the first pictures are good, but some pictures in regular lighting like above would be great.

I actually really like Picard?s too. I don?t have any issue with Data?s. I wouldn?t mind having a FC set of TNG. I just had no clue they were jumpsuits. It was never a question of accuracy it was just me being oblivious.

Overall I am very happy we are getting this Data and I hope a FC Picard is not too far behind along with more TOS, TNG and especially TWOK.

More great work Nanjin! Amazing that all of my collecting money for the foreseeable future will be divided between 3 companies: EXO-6, Asmus, and Dam Toys with those Godfather figures...0 dollars allocated to Hot Toys...if someone had told me that two years ago I would not have believed them. It?s the licenses! Always the licenses!

I read an article about the original TNG uniforms a long time ago. They wanted jumpsuits to maintain a sleek and clean appearance onscreen. After a while, the main cast complained the tautness of the uniforms was causing fatigue. 2-piece uniforms were made for the main cast, and their old jumpsuits were reused by background characters.

With the FC uniforms, they probably took this into account and made 2-piece for the main cast and jumpsuits for crew members. Since they needed a lot of uniforms for crew members, the jumpsuits were cheaper and easier to make in large quantities.

That makes sense. I always figured Picard's FC uniform had to be a 2-piece because its one of the only
uniforms that was actually well tailored at the shoulders that fitted Stewart perfectly.
