I just don't get why this would get an immediate PO, especially over Mantis or even the 1/4 Mark II.

The non-poseable lower half makes it a 100% pass for me, but even if it were articulated... I don't think I would have
any interest in the character selection. Wouldn't a Tom Hardy Venom have been more in demand than this thing?

Because you don't want it, it's a "waste of time?" Why can't it just be "Eh, it's not for my collection, but I'm happy for those excited about it?"

The 1/4 Spiderman falls into the category of eh, not for my collection. This ugly thing is a waste of time. HT has other lines people want figures from that are being neglected to produce stuff like this.

I like the uniqueness of it and how it's completely different from anything in my collection. Maybe in the future if I can get it for a steal, I might buy it.

You don't speak for the community at large, though. Again, just because you think it's stupid doesn't mean everyone will. And just because they're producing this, doesn't mean it's the reason they aren't producing something else. Maybe they aren't producing Cyborg, or 66 Joker or those other figures because they just don't want to.

If I adopted your attitude, I'd be calling Cyborg a "waste of time". Ugly design, ****** movie, etc. But there are a lot of collectors out there that want him for their JL collection, so if HT announces him tomorrow, I'm not gonna get all huffy, calling it a waste of time, or moaning "where's my Mysterio?" I'd just be happy for the collectors getting something they want.

There are enough things in this world to be upset over. Hot Toys doing a Venompool figure out of the blue isn't one of them.

I love how angry people seem to be getting about this figure.

For someone like myself, who loves Deadpool and Venom, it was a great surprise. Lets be real, there isnt much else they could do for Deadpool which would get fans buzzing so this is so far out there it was a great surprise.

I have probably 10 hot toys in my collection, yet I think this will instantly become my favourite, its so unique.

I still think it is a really cool figure just not something I need and want to give space to.

I'm probably one of the weird people who like the design of this.
ฺีBut the lack of articulation of the lower body is disappointing and also the reason I'm not getting it. Would be an awesome piece to own.

Sold sold sold! I love the idea of this figure, and hope this opens up that Hot Toys can make 1/6 renditions of XMen from the game.

Just wanted to let you know that this figure is a waste of time

Looks like it does have lower body articulation to me

Though I don't care about this figure, I do like what it, and the Spidey figures represent--HT's willingness to give us more comic-type styled figures. My fantasy for years has been a "bronze age," comic accurate Cap, Spidey, Wolvie, etc. I would sell all my Marvel movie figures in a second if HT would do this.

I updated the first post with the Official description, and noticed it said "expertly tailored red suit".

Is that actual cloth?!

No it's all molded; I didn't see a single bit of cloth on this.

This’ll be ~$407 at Sideshow. Hefty for a character that seems so arbitrary.

I think that's such a rip off for what this figure is. Seeing it in person, it's not that huge and I can see how ugly the joints, whatever they are will be if they're articulated. It might be worth near that if they developed something if the fabric was actually stapled on, that'd make for an interesting figure. The head is painted nicely, but it's not a human headsculpt that really takes the time to do as HT has shown.

I do agree that in general I see this as kind of a waste. I'm not super familiar with comics, but in my 5 minutes of googling I found that it doesn't look like the comic renditions of Venompool. You can't say Contest of Champions fans are going to buy this figure. It's just one of those random one off things, an incredibly niche and expensive figure. I highly doubt this will sell very well, so I see it as a waste for HT to invest the time and money into this to sell a few dozen of them.

This also totally throws out the idea that HT displays stuff to get people's reactions to see what to produce. They had these product photos ready to roll, they had all the accessories shown at SDCC, so they went straight into this knowing they were going to put it up for preorder Monday, regardless of what everyone was saying.

It is a waste of time because NECA could produce something as good as this. A hunk of molded plastic isn’t something I, nor many collectors, want Hot Toys to spend time on. I’d like to believe most buy Hot Toys because of the head sculpts, cloth goods, and the level of accuracy/detail is something few companies could match. This doesn’t fall into any of the above categories. This a very niche item and somewhat stupid when a regular Venom would sell better.
