I have to agree that the first is the best then the third and the second would be last. I don’t think it’s as much the design like you said but the color. It’s more maroon than red and is just a turn off.

I don't mind the Civil War suit, but it really isn't Andy Park's best work. The first just looks way cooler.

The only thing i like better about the 1st suit design is the helmet, i prefer the design of the 3rd suit better though. The 3rd suit with the 1st suits helmet would be the ultimate antman suit.

I just love the retro look of the first. And the reading of the red on the chest and other areas. Also the damage scratches on the helmet. Just more going on with it.

The one thing that always bugged me about the first design was the pair of cables sticking out of the back of the helmet. They looked retro, but were wildly impractical on a combat suit.

Why yes, I do want realism on my incredible shrinking man action doll.

I don’t understand the hate towards the CW Ant Man, I really like it; and to be honest, I think the differences in the suit in general are not that noticeable. I fear a new headsculpt would be worse, considering the rush of the latest figures.

I don't see any issues with this sculpt, i saw it in person and it looked amazing. In a museum pose obviously. Also I really like this outfit as it was on some awesome scenes in CW

I recall seeing that at my local CBS. I didn’t think the sculpt was really all that bad either.

I think I actually prefer the newest outfit now, as it's just got a flashier and more streamlined "superhero" look to it. The first one was cool at the time, but now seems a bit overly clunky (and on the HT figure has always looked pretty stiff and bulky to me).

I've spent a little more time than I'd care to admit *cough* *cough* comparing the first and current costumes. I'm leaning towards the current because of the above. I'm just not so happy with the Wasp looking relatively drab. Would have preferred a bright yellow or at least a brighter blue with less grey/metal.

I dunno. The first one has so much more going on with it. Back when dare I say it Hot Toys cared more with all the weathering etc. Or perhaps didn't have so much on their plate.

Scott Lang helmeted sculpt with smirk is also pretty damn good.

Yeah, Wasp isn't terribly impressive to me. I probably will get this Ant-Man, but am still on the fence about grabbing Wasp. I would like the pair but wish her suit was more visually appealing. I do feel like she could be a one and done character though as far as a figure release.

That’s going into my decsion as well. Do I really need Wasp, or is she merely just an acccessory piece? If the latter, that’s one hell of an expensive accessory piece.

I passed on the HTs (at least for now) in favor of the Iron Studios BDS Ant Man and Wasp. They're incredibly dynamic (more than I'd be willing to ever pose the HTs in) and offer largely the only opportunity to buy a differently scaled collectible and have it still fit in with the HT collection. Just some food for thought for those who are trying to decide how they want to add the characters.

The 1st suit just look like motorcycle suit/outfit. All leather and not practical as a superhero suit. The new one just looks more superhero to me. More antman.

I share the same opinion as you. I prefer the latest suit but I also like the first suit. The first suit's helmet looks good.

Is it just the lighting or does it look like the helmet on this looks more metallic now compared to the more flatter gray on the proto type pics?

Looks like a silver gloss to me.
