Yeah it wouldn't feel nearly as exciting seeing them together again if it wasn't for the fact they were mostly split apart in the last movie. Which was kinda the point I think.
Anyway, I'm most looking forward to seeing the new Rey figure. It may be a very similar outfit, but the brighter white should make it really stand out. And I bet she would look cool with that new hood up too that they've given her.

Yep, the hood really sold me. Also, at least in that last shot it looks like there's a bit more flowy bits in the back, but could just be that scene.

Yep, horrible title for a SW film, at least the Last Jedi is intriquing with the title even though the film was garbage. This has a horrid title and let's be honest, not much going into the this one and the emperor being teased is just so wrong. Unless Luke is alive I can see this film being as bad as tlj.
The thing I hate in trailers is they reveal so much. Now, everybody knows emperor will be back. From now on, it's just how did he survive curiosity. If his presence was hidden, it would have been a bigger wow factor in the movie theater.
Moreover, I don't understand why people want to know details before the movie is screened. Wishing the movie as soon as possible and wishing to know the plot is completely different things. First one is reasonable but I don't understand the latter.
I have watched every trailers of TFA. It was a new beginning, so no big spoiler was there. They did not reveal Luke there.
I avoided all trailers for TLJ to avoid spoilers.
I watched teaser trailer for TROS and it already gave a big spoiler. There were rumors on the internet but they were just rumors until the teaser. I am trying to avoid rumors also but the video titles appear on Youtube.

I think that decision was deliberate. A massive plot point like that tends to be jarring and could cause an unexpected reaction in a negative sense from Day 1. It's more so Lucasfilm trying to regulate expectations and to teat the crowd into accepting it so that it's not so much of a shock when it releases in theaters. But of course, ultimately it all depends on the execution on screen a la TLJ's 'It's time for the Jedi, to end.'
Or it could just be a massive red herring and be a misdirection from the big surprise in the movie.

I think the palpatine thing is just fan service. They are trying to bring back ot characters like lando and palpatine because of the revenue loss in terms of merchandise. Who knows if palpatine has a major role or luke will be brought back to life? The implication of it is a cheap attempt to sell the movie and merchandise. I hope it’s good and redeems this trilogy in some way. Killing Luke and Han was a joke. They could have been written off screen very easily and brought back in the last movie for a celebration. Oh well, teaser trailers were built on hope.

That's the thing, this wasn't planned, this is JJ trying to save the disaster that was TLJ.
He says in an interview he had no story for ep 9. He has to try to tell a new story, which is why ep 9 is based years later from ep 8.
I think it's genius, and really hope it plays out to finish the saga nicely.
