As much as I and probably most other people wish for a papa Palps return via some Plagueis schenangians or cloning, I am 90% sure it's a flashback or force ghost scene at best. They burnt too many bridges in the trainwreck that was TLJ.

That happened to me too! I was going to use the $20 off code everyone was using for the Iron Man Mark 85 on the Director Krennic, then while on the checkout page a 10% off thing just appeared, but I had clicked off the page at like the exact second. I chatted w/ a rep to see and they said it's random when they pop up.

I went back to the checkout page and waited, basically, hours between that day and the following day for it to reappear when it finally did.

I suppose it could be a colossal fakeout, but I'm guessing they aren't hyping up the Emperor as much as they are in the first teaser just to give us a brief force ghost scene. He clearly seems to have more of a presence in the movie than that.

Yea they wouldn't do that to us, he has to be in the movie.... JJ said at celebrations he's the most powerful bad guy.
He must be hiding out in that Death star wreckage, thats why they are looking for him.

They’ve shown time and time again that they use the hinting of fan service to build up hype, then execution is either something completely different or underwhelming. I think they’ve been completely subverting expectations with this new trilogy. If Palps was going to be a big player in this movie, I don’t think they would have revealed him this early in the trailer. That’s something they would want to keep secret. I find their marketing of the recent movies to be pretty disingenuous but that’s just me. I hope I’m wrong.

Huh, why would they bother to go to all that as a red herring ? To even get McDiarmond on stage there ??

Who else is going to be the big bad in this ? Kylo....he hardly comes across as bad to me given what's happened to date. Plus they show the crashed piece of the Death Star. He's in it, and am sure will have a significant role similar to the OT with Kylo probably as the new Vader under him.

Teasing the Emperor now creates talk. Plus it's a pretty tough one to keep under wraps, so why not get ahead of the potential leak and use it to your advantage.

Sorry couldn't disagree more. But perhaps you're right. Time will tell.
