Thanks guys!

To be more specific I’m not necessarily concerned with any creasing behind the knee as it seems like that’s just a given with the material.

I’m more so concerned with any possible snagging of the material behind the knee joint. Just like what was going on with the tech suit version where it was getting slightly cut up and damaged by the joint behind the knee.

With the tech suit ver. it’s manageable by pinching it the material before bending the knee, but for this version, the material is very snug and won’t allow me to pinch any slack before bending.

So if anyone has any input, I’d really appreciate it. Haven’t played with mine yet as I’m a little paranoid tbh. Thanks again!

That’s a great photo!

Unlikely, but has anyone had this ship from Popcultcha yet? Loki shipped quite quickly from them but traditionally they take much longer. Just impatient I guess ...

Ikon Collectables (The Australian Wholesaler) has just updated their ETA for this piece to 3rd April 2019. I usually rely on them for arrival dates as Popcultcha is terrible with their website updates.

So chances use to be that Popcultcha would have it in their warehouse up to a week prior, but because of their processing delays, it can be up to a week later nowadays. Heck one of my recent parcels was shipped directly from Ikons to me, possibly bypassing Popcultcha entirely. I’m not totally sure but I believe the two businesses may be related in some way.

Awesome thanks for that, good to know.
That’s weird about bypassing PC never had that before!

I will set up a monitor to keep track of those Ikon Collectable url’s for the date changes.

Your welcome. Like most places their estimated ETA is usually dated for the end of a particular month. But once it’s updated to a specific date like it is for this figure of 3rd of April, that’s when you can be sure that it’s on its way.

just wondering, for those who already have this in hand, do you think the suit will develop the "pink panty" fading issue like the older plastic iron man figures?

No I don't think so. It's a totally different material.

I mean it's assumed that you keep it out of direct sunlight. If not, then sure it could fade.

I'd never have my figures in direct sunlight though.

Thanks for the reply man, and having just received the item in-hand, I concur with what you said.

The suit material was actually crafted by DuPont - they called it Tyvek, which feels similar to those $15 tear & water-resistant paper wallets that they sell on Amazon - as stated in the piece of paper they included with the figure (I’m surprised none of the dozen or so reviews I watched mentioned this). I think I’ll give HT the benefit of the doubt in terms of the material’s longevity & durability, having gone through all that trouble to specifically procure a material from such a reputable chemical company.

Honestly I had my doubts ordering this figure, having watched the reviews and noting the concerns about the suit’s creasing & articulation restrictions. Of course, as a “museum-poser” I wasn’t too worried about articulation as much as it just looking great in a standard stance. And boy, did HT knock it out of the park in that regard!

Everything about this figure just screams awesome, from the the metallic finish of the suit, the spider legs and the dark blue hue that they chose for this figure really makes this figure look simply stunning. In a standard museum pose, I’d say the Iron Spider steals the spotlight and has more of a “wow” factor compared to the tech homecoming suit and even my diecast Mark 5 figure, which is saying something. The attention to detail with the suit’s printing really is just a beauty to behold; You can really see why HT is the king of 1/6 figures just based on this figure alone.

But you really have to see this figure in person for yourself to truly appreciate its beauty, and have it displayed in a display area where there’re enough lights to bring out the metallic sheen, which is where this figure truly shines. And the spider legs, which is the one thing I initially hated when I saw promo pics of this figure (I loathe spiders so I thought they were hideous and nasty), became something I really liked since they really add a lot of presence and character to the figure.

In-hand, I thought the giraffe neck mentioned on some reviews was a non-issue - the proportions of the entire body look spot-on to me.

For what it’s worth, I’d give this figure a 10/10 for looks and value and actually a 8/10 for articulation (if you don’t mind the creasing), because the joints really move well unlike some Batman figures. Of course, if you are worried about the suit creasing like I am, articulation score would probably be a 0/10 haha..Having said that, since I purely am a museum poser, I’d give this figure a 10/10, simply ‘cause I can’t find anything to fault.

If given the choice between owning this and the tech suit from homecoming, I’d probably give Iron Spidey the edge just because of how much more presence it has on display and the “wow” factor from the suit’s design and finish.

Agreed on all points. Such a homerun by HT. I’d love a tech suit for the more classic look but it does pale in comparison next to this. It’s the paint used. How popular Spidey is I won’t be surprised if this is sought after once it’s sold out. Some will definitely regret not buying it. I was unsure of it when I first got it but now it’s top 3 in my collection.

Yeah I’d definitely regret not having this in my collection! Best non-iron man figure in my collection thus far. Plus, we won’t know when or if we’ll ever see the IS suit being used again, so this might be the last chance to own a MCU iron spidey suit. Glad they didn’t go the diecast route for this cos’ that would’ve definitely priced me out.

Glad you like him man. That's interesting about the material from DuPont. I guess HT is always looking for new materials to use for their figures. This certainly achieves an excellent finish. It seems we'll probably see it used quite a bit in other figures such as Captain Marvel.

Does anyone else on a PC have this sites pages jumping up and down as the ads change ? Very annoying.

Yeah, I've been noticing that too...not super frequently, but def annoying for sure.

At least this site on PC ain't as bad on mobile with the constant redirecting to pages saying I have malware and a virus...so annoying!

Strange. I’m on an iOS device and have never once gotten those pages.

Yes very annoying, but honestly I didn’t know at the time what was causing that..... as I type this in, the quick reply box shifted back and forth :slap.... and again :gah:

On an iMac it also does it. Must be a browser related thing for PC or Mac. It never used to do it. We should all contact Darklord Dave.

I'm doing it now.

How are you guys enjoying this? I just got Thor and I'm loving him. I've decided to end up waiting on Endgame versions of Cap, Iron Man and Thanos so now I'm deciding between Iron Spider and Black Panther 🤔 Always loved Spider Man and loved him in this movie! I just have heard about the issues with the suit, which is also one of the biggest reasons people love it lol

its really an awesome figure, even in a museum pose, that suit and character really stand out on the shelf

Oh dear if you have purchased in Australia, Ikon have changed the ETA again on this ... now 30 June 2019, it’s turning into another Homecoming situation ...
