Yep, 5 - two regular, two gantrys, and one neon tech; I'm crazy :cuckoo:

Well for me, for figures I'm VERY fond of, I get multiples, two maybe three, however I went overboard on this one.

There's fondness, then there's unhealthy obsession! :lol Damn, and I thought I was being extravagant getting the diecast versions of the Marks III through VI when I already had the plastic ones, or getting most of the Mark VII repaints (Midas, Sub-Zero, Stealth, Python). But hey, no judgments. We all have our unique priorities in this hobby. And I commend you on your taste. If I had to pick one suit to buy 5 of, the Mark IV wins hands down.

Well OK, guess I've got *issues*:lol 'coz I dup stuff all the time. Esp. Winter Soldier not even sure how many I have:monkey3. Cap and BW. Latest was 2 Ultron Mark 2s. Just sayin' tho everyone collects differently but for me it's either pose/costume variants, just to have it:love, insurance, and the big one is displays in 2 different locations. E.g. where my computer is isn't where the TV is. Places I spend a lot of time and finally realized it was getting on my nerves to always have to be in one place to enjoy my stuff.:( Not that I'm rich.:horror

As the "first MCU" winds down and I look around, patting myself on the back for all those figs *happy*. Hope they last 'coz IMO this has been a great film era to live through:clap! Really not convinced HT would do a lot of re-releases except for Cap and IM sure glad for those 2 CW Natashas... I watched Avengers 1 last night and it just popped into my head it's gonna be hard next MCU w. no Tony Stark and those beautiful, beautiful armors:(:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Anyway just checkin' this thread 'coz for me IM is under-represented so like reading comments for future pick-ups as the MCU winds down. Some stuff I just missed re IM. From a newbie "IM collector" am willing to believe use of diecast is debatable:dunno. But after getting the "Singapore" re-release VI - prob as stripped as u can get (so then I ordered a custom head sculpt and a collar kit *sigh*) - for me anyway the upscale diecast is the way to go. 'Coz I like the feel. Even if I can't use a flight stand re the weight.:lol
90% sure I'm gonna PO the diecast Mark VII$$$$:horror. For me anyway I give up - might as well order the "premium" release - I just end up spending more later for displays.:gah:

I got this standard MkIV last night great looking piece.

Main issue i have are :

The gauntlett wrist flaps should be flat instead of grooved looking
The Sun Glasses arent accurate.
Display stand is boring.

Gantry set is over the top too expensive for me here in Australia people want 1500.00 AUD for it

Well I'd like to think we as collectors to have unhealthy obsessions :lol Very much agreed, as you state, collect and let collect :duff Hehe thanks! Wowza you must have a great variety of armors. Since these are high end collectibles, well, as with any other figures, I like to cherry pick my figures, only figures/characters I am intrigued to obtain.

**BIG GRIN** I am definitely with you!! You bet I'm gonna get the VII!! :panic:

Well that's a given. The question is "how many?" :lol

2 :).

You can easily get 2 distinct looks out of it or can surely flip one at a later date.

Normally I don’t buy dupes unless it is a significant release.

I was never allured by the gantry...also from what I've read on this board the material/build is cheap?

I love the colour and the industrial look, but for my taste it’s a little bare and awkward in some positions — I think I liked it better in the film.

I can totally see the appeal though. Not like I didn’t consider it.

It's all plastic, but I don't think it looks cheap. The only thing that's cheap is the little tiny grey grabber things, they're soft plastic and were actually a bit deformed out of the box.

My biggest problem is how incredibly tight it is. Putting each one in the base is super tight and then trying to turn them and articulate the joints makes it feel like it's going to break.

You can just admit you didn't want to spend over $600 to get it. You don't have to justify that to us. :lol

I agree - I find those to be annoying. I've knocked a couple of them off getting the Mark IV's arms positioned inside & they're a bit of a pain to re-install due to their size. But regardless, the thing still looks awesome. I have a fairly large collection now and when seeing it for the first time, most people gravitate to the gantry.

Any tips on how to position the helmet claws on the gantry so it isn’t precarious? Nervous about it falling.

Well $600 is a crazy amount to be spending on a toy set. I also don't think the gantry is worth $200...like how? But yeah, it's the truth...I just didn't see the gantry as a must-have item for my collection.

I did consider buying the Mk IV without the gantry, but that was also very hard to justify since I already own the DC Mk VI...I couldn't rationalize spending $400+ for what would amount to be just a different chest plate and slightly different colors on the bicep and leg. Luckily I don't have a completionist's mentality. :lol

this figure looks great, but I already have the mark 6 and after watching comparison videos, besides the center triangle with the mark 6, the other differences are minimal...

not sure if its worth the money and limited space just to get this...

Dang! I wish I could've afford the gantry version. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mark IV, but da*n it! I want the gantry!

It's awesome to have a big, tech-y diorama. I'm a huge fan of the "mech" aspect of IM, and this set delivers.
