Gay!!! :lol

If the raise in taxes is justified and the burden falls mainly on the wealthy then I also don't see a problem with that either since the majority of America is struggling financially and could use the extra help.

Spoken like a true commie. :monkey3

Seriously though, neither one of these guys are going to tax the rich to carry the burden. Like always, the lower and upper middleclass will carry the country, and unless you're jobless living on welfare and belching out kids for extra benefits, you won't see a dime of either candidate's "poverty relief".

You probably speak the unfortunate truth. The middle is screwed... once again. :monkey2

I do remember trying to get financial aid during college. It was incredibly frustrating because I really was poor but the government factored in the income of my father, who never gave me a cent, and the fact that I wasn't a ^^^^ up and had a child at age 19 like some of these other people. It seems the people who screw up the most in life always get the helping hand. I got no money and had to work my ass off while some girl who was careless and got knocked up got all the free money. Meanwhile her parents are really raising her illegitimate child- wile she parties with my financial aid. grrr.

this happened with the housing market too. Irresponsible buyers bought up homes they couldn't afford and before they got what they deserved the government decided to help them out. Well what about the people who were smart enough to understand what they could afford.

This is a correct statement. Democrates still tax the crap out of the Middle to help the poor.

It's really about the lesser of 2 evils. Although McCain may not be the "best" candidate, I think he will harm the country less than Obama will. What most people fail to realize about being ok with the rich being taxed more is the trickle down effect. The middle class may not take the hit of the higher taxes but we will take the hit of slow job growth, loss of benefits, MORE business' going overseas to offset the tax hike for the rich. As far as the military goes, I guess people haven't heard that because of the misslile shield that Poland wants, they have just opened themselves up to a possible strike if not nuclear strike by Russia, who as of yesterday severed ties with NATO. Barrack Obama wants the US to be the leader in destroying our nuclear weapons, do people really think Russia will follow?

I can just see you driving by that chick's place everyday saying "There's the ^^^^^ that made me pay for college.":lol:lol:lol

And this is exactly what a Socialist stands for.

How terrible. He might make me pay more taxes. If he stops the government from using my money to bully other countries thats ok with me.

I'm not worried about him making you pay more taxes, I'm worried about him making me pay more taxes. If you have so much money and want to put it to good use, I'll send you my address and you can send as much my way as you want. I promise I will put it to good use.

Ummm... ok. :dunno

we've been thru that before.
Its comepltely impossible to have worse choices than GW / John Kerry .... :monkey1

Although right now we are dead in the middle of a choice that is every single bit as bad.

We need a person with integrity to be our leader. Someone who isn't entirely disconnected from the majority of the citizens in America. Maybe a person who isn't filthy rich would be nice as well since most of us just barely scrap by with what we have. How can they understand what it's like when they all own 4 or more homes and don't have to fear losing them or not being able to afford something they really want? How can he know what America's future needs when he is living in the past? He has trouble remembering simple facts .. like which countries still exist and their names.

Colin Powell is a Statesman, not a politician. And he is nearly untouchable in his integrity. And he may not take the job, but a strong showing for him, or a good statesman like him, would send a message.

How terrible. He might make me pay more taxes. If he stops the government from using my money to bully other countries thats ok with me.

Pix, do you honestly believe that is what it is all about? Is that all you care about? That is the kind of mindset that both the Republicans AND the Democrats feast upon. The simple idea that one party is better or worse than the other is ludicrous beyond all reason. The Democrats would not handle foreign affairs any differently than have the Republicans. Look throughout history and tell me what you see that would lead you to think they would.

We can look at Viet Nam and see the parallel. Viet Nam was happening during a Democratic administration and ended during Republican administration, the combat troops left under Nixon and the rest under Ford. So the Republicans got the credit for getting us out of the war. But there is no doubt that if the Dems had been in at the right time, THEY would have gotten the credit. These 2 parties have dragged the honor of running this country down to such a pathetic level, that supporting either of them is tatamount to treason. Their tricks are so transparent that is makes me mad that intelligent Americans are supporting them.

And look who our politicians idolize. The Kennedys? Are you kidding me? A family who built their wealth as the biggest rivals of The Chicago Mafia family bootlegging Scotch in through Canada during the Prohibition? A family who have had more shady business associated with them than any other politically charged family that I can think of? And this is who the world sees us calling "American Royalty" as they have frequently been called? What a pathetic message that sends about us to the world. And all of the followers of whatever party is NOT in administration at the given time are always blaming the mud on America's face on the party that IS in administration at the time. That mud is collectively the responsibility of us voters.

The bottom line is simple. If McCain and Obama each get the nominations of their respective parties as it seems certain to be, then anyone who votes for either of them is part of the problem and not part of the solution. It is an unqaulified slap in the face to the citizens of this nation for these parties to be serving up the garbage that they have been since Abraham Lincoln was assassinated to vote for time-after-time-after-time.

I hope that everyone chooses to be part of the solution by not voting for EITHER of these two clowns. Write in a candidate. Do some homework and find yourselves a worthy person. And don't be afraid to tell us about them here. I already mentioned my own current choice.
