Hmmm ya....disappointing. I've never seen a diorama I've liked except maybe Spidey vs Hulk. Have high hopes for just Spider-man.

Well I don't really have any interest in her portrait to begin with so long as we get a masked version not a big deal breaker.

For sure. It would be a huge missed opportunity if they did not include a masked portrait.
I know a lot of people don't like this one, the base choice is one thing, but also the inclusion of MJ...
Consider that XM is very up front that they're working on their Spidey 1/4 that everybody is anticipating from them...this was never meant to be that. This is a whole separate thing and this diorama really can't be compared to the SS or IS 1/4 Spideys...we'll see how XM matches up to those once they deliver their stand alone 1/4 Spidey statue.

We know statues don't float in mid air without any support... I wonder how there going to connect it to the base...
Pegs on Spidey's left thigh and right heel, probably.

Base looking too weird and huge; a combination of perspective and 3-D. They should just have a wall.

Agreed, conceptually it sounds good, but doesn't translate well. Will have to wait to see the painted prototype before I revisit this piece, but for now it's a pass for me.

I don't mind the base. I just wish they'd gone for more John Romita-inspired sculpt, like the Kotobukiya piece. Currently, Spidey looks too generic while MJ's proportions and face look very J. Scott Campbell. It's kind of disjointed, which makes the risky base design stand out more than it would if were more cohesive overall.

Yes there is a stand alone coming with this as well.
IMHO this one has some AMAZING figure work, but I truly dislike the base. Now I am not sure what I would have gone with, but even a chimney or a crane would have been better IMO.
