I got the Kinect yesterday. It does everything they say it does to about 95% (which is pretty darn good). The Adventures game is fun but I could see getting tired of it MUCH quicker than a game like Wii Sports. Understand that if you buy the Kinect it is not simply a pull it out of the box and sit it down thing. I needed to buy a mount for my TV, probably buy a lamp to go behind the TV so it works better in the evening, and I could REALLY use about 2 more feet of space in front of my couch.

LOVE: I love that the Kinect can be updated by itself. Actually the first time you plug it in you need to upgrade the firmware. I also love the facial recognition even though my room sucks for recognition in the evening (which can be fixed by one lamp).

HATE: I hate that you currently can not control the dashboard with Kinect. This is the reason behind the Kinect Hub which is a MAJORLY simplified dashboard to just hit the most important areas and a few ads. I do see this changing though as the Kinect becomes more popular.

All in all, this thing has HUGE potential. I'm talking enough potential to change gaming and maybe even computers forever. Has that potential been harnessed right now? No. Will it be by this time next year? I sure to hell hope so.

You know, I actually bought the Stormtrooper armor for my avatar so whenever I set up the Kinect it's me in armor. Very funny doing the robot as an avatar in armor.

My store has 27 on preorder but we only have 12 instock. Fun times a coming.

Uh boy,I hope I don't find it that difficult to find one for my brother. Is this thing really in demand?..I hope not.

Most stores preordered more than they received. You may find one at a bigbox store though.

Quick update type of thing.

We had 27 preorders and only 12 in stock. The day it came out we got in another shipment in, which brought our total to 28. So basically we only had 1 extra to sell off while the rest were for preorders. Have been having alot of people asking about it as well, shame since TRU has the sale on it as well.

There were a lot of the console bundles at Best Buy today. I managed to play the bowling game for a good half hour and thought it was really awesome. I definitely like it more than MOVE, which was also on display there. Didn't really care for it at all, and IMO it's still a redesigned Wii controller.

yeah the xbox/kinect bundle my store has, we only have like 3 250gb, and about 12 or so of the 4gb.

have there been any news of games that use the standard controller and kinect? i think itd be sweet to play an action game with the standard controller and then when you hop into a mech suit or something you can control it with kinect.

Any system that makes the Wii go away is a winner in my book......have yet to get this and probably wont - for now....waiting to see if hardcore gamer type games are done....that said, if people buy this and its cool, something I'll be interested in getting down the road

That's quite an antagonistic stance. What do you have against the Wii?
