This is some backwoods hillbilly redneck Floridian that willingly sticks his hand in a nest... bad move (turn down your volume)

Dude's a moron......still funny though:lol

It's funny. Out here, it's when it gets REALLY hot, the ants come in. Pesky little buggers. My cat used to eat them, but I guess not anymore.

And you want some freaky ants, just watch the MacGyver Episodes about Army Ants.........**shiver**

I once watched an Animal Planet episode on the world's deadliest insects. They had these ants in Africa that would swarm in hordes of over a million. They would eat cattle, and even babies in cribs! :horror:horror Needless to say, it really freaked me out.

I was mistaken before, NOW I really can't go to sleep. You know that feeling when someone puts a suggestion into you head, and then afterwards from then on, you get a little feeling on a leg or an arm and you immediately think and react like there are really ants on you. I hope all you frakkers get that feeling right now. :rotfl:rotfl

Ah yes... I hate that feeling.
I was in the shower once, and I had the though of spiders in my head, and when the water was on me, running down my back and etc...it felt like spiders.
So, I immediately ran out of the shower. Terrible feeling that was.

Ants...and now SPIDERS. I think you secretly hate everybody here and want to poison our minds.

Here's a Camel Spider for y'all.

None of you needed to sleep anyway...

I never heard of this. Where can you buy it? Hardware store?

Yes. And I think places like Wal-Mart have it as well.

I got a laugh the first time I saw the ants lovin' on it so much that there were so many of them just on the puddle that their heads were all grabbing the stuff and their little ant-butts were all sticking out like hair coming from the pile. there was no room for one more ant but the rest were trying hard to get at it.

I sometimes get these giant crickets that come in my basement, they make a loud pop when stepped on.

Ahhhh I hate spiders! Especially after watching that movie Arachnophobia.

Ahhhh I hate fire ants! Especially after watching that movie Kingdom of the crystal suck err i mean skull.

These are actually pseudo-scorpions. They are called sun-spiders or wind scorpions (those things are fast) here at home in the SoCal High Desert. I remember when I was in the Marines in Desert Storm, I was sitting on my pack under a camo net and one of these things came after me. Was running right at me. I jumped up and it stopped in front of me with it's front legs up like spiders do when the are going to fight.

It died a quick and crushing death under the heel of my combat boot.

I was just reading a little more on these things. It would appear that the reason the one I killed lifted it's front legs is because they use them as antennae. Maybe he didn't deserve to die after all.

Also, they are not pseudo-scorpions, but belong to an arachnid order all their own like scorpions do. No venom, but a painful bite usually only inflicted in self defense.

Around here, they are commonly mistaken for vinegaroons (a pseudo-scorpion that gets it's name because it's hunting weapon is a spray of an 85% concentration of acetic acid, not becuase you taste vinegar if you get bit by one, as is commonly believed here), as are jerusalem crickets (which I think may have been referred to in a previous post).

Jerusalem crickets are a large tan and brown striped cricket that almost look to be a cross between crickets, ants and termites and are thought to kill small children in Mexico (they call them ijos de tierra or something like that), because some children get stung by scorpions that are likely hunting the crickets, but the cricket is the only think left around when the parents respond to the childs crying (or so it is believed by some experts). I have a picture of a jerusalem cricket that I caught. I hope I can find and post it.

So ends the entomology lesson for today.
