I know people love some of these and deserve to mention them, but listing star wars, lotr, etc for the 15th time on the list doesn't fill me in on any new stuff to look into. I hate that about these lists most everyone echos each other.

Well if you're looking for new stuff, I'd suggest starting a recommendations thread or something, with a post your favorites, there's bound to be repetition.

I'll have to listen more closely to the Ratatouille music next time I see that. Thanks for the recommendations.

Well, from the ones that were not mentioned here:

The Village and Lady in the Water are two beautiful soundtracks by James Newton Howard

El Cid by Miklos Rozsa is a superb epic score. I recommend the three disc re-recording released by Tadlow Music ( https://www.pragueorchestras.com/elcid.htm) - great performance and sound quality.

Cherry 2000 is a short but fun to listen to western-sci fi score by Basil Poledouris.

Some of the less known Williams scores like The Witches of Eastwick or A.I. are among my favourites.

Someone already mentioned Ratatouille but I'll recomend it again.

The Beach (Score), The Bourne Trilogy, The Pride and Prejudice (Desplat), Face/Off, The Dark City, The Crow 1,2...the list goes on.

Other good ones are:

Midnight Express by Giorgio Moroder
The Black Hole by John Barry
Constantine by Klaus Badelt
Assault On Precinct 13 by John Carpenter
Dirty Harry and Enter the Dragon by Lalo Schifrin
The Insider by Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke
The Mist by Mark Isham
Transformers by Steve Jablonsky
The Strangers by Tomandandy

Well....here are some that didn't make my top 10, but which I like very much...

Unbreakable
The Island
Romeo and Juliet - most recent one (the actual score)
The Virgin Suicides
A.I.
The Crow (actual score)
Road to Perdition
Donnie Darko
Everything is Illuminated

Also, if you want movie-ish type score music (some you hear in movie trailers)...

Trailerhead

I bought the soundtrack after watching the movie instantly.
Its very powerful. Ecspecially from 03:00 + .

4:47 is probably my favorite part but you have to listen to the whole thing really.

This is my fave from Leon...

Nobody loves The Mummy Returns score as much as I do.

Actual soundtrack with songs...definitely The Crow soundtrack! I've had that for over 10 years now. NIN, my first exposure to The Cure, STP, Rage Against the Machine!

As far as musical scores...I have the Lost soundtracks, X-Files and Millennium, but my favorite is Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Bicentennial Man James Horner, Spider-Man 3 (not available on CD), Hellboy, PREDATOR (duh), Batman Returns, Commando, Robocop, Starship Troopers, A.I. and

HELLRAISER by Christopher Young.
