Following the recent trend of video game threads, for those of you who are old enough to have played them, what were your 5 favorite arcade games?

My picks:

5) WWF Superstars

4) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

3) Final Fight

2) Street Fighter 2

1) Dragon's Lair :rock

I used to spend every birthday at the mall, playing videogames and eating pizza with my friends. I miss those days :monkey2

No particular order.

1. Marvel vs Capcom 2
2. Samurai Shodown II/IV
3. Aliens versus Predator
4. Vampire Savior
5. Dungeons & Dragons: Shadows over Mystara

Honorable mentions:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Street Fighter Alpha
Ms Pacman

1.bad dudes
2.mortal kombat 2
3.TMNT
4.street fighter
5.final fight

i'd spend a good amout of quarters at the arcade on any of the above. i think bad dudes and tmnt were the ones i played the most.

Street Fighter 2, and Mortal Kombat 2

(and the variations of the above)

Good times.

1.bad dudes
I remember this one well. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the NES version with my allowance money. Now that was a huge disappointment. Another game I remember with an inferior NES counterpart was P.O.W.

Oh man how could I forget Mappy and Burgertime ! Brilliant GAMES

Argh I forgot to put Arkanoid II Revenge of Doh on my list

The extra balls power-up on Arkanoid was tricky. I thought it was a good thing, but would get so wrapped up trying to hit all of the balls back, that they inevitably caused me to die when I couldn't get any of them

The guy in that video has the right idea--just focus on one at a time.

Here is another great Don Bluth laser disc game:

I never got a chance to play any of those lazer disc games :(

I loved playing Moonwalker and Shadow Warriors when I was a kid as well

yeah I remember when Dragon's Lair came out it cost $1 to play and that was when all other games were 25cents. I remember being really disappointed because you couldn't control the guy, Dirk I think he was called. It played by itself and you had to give it the right command at certain parts of the cartoon.

Shadow Warriors, was that the one that had like 10 screens side by side and the ninja's parts would blow off showing robotic parts underneath?:D

I think that's Ninja Warriors you're thinking of

This thread is really making me reminisce about all the great old arcade games from when I was a kid (I'm 25) used to spend loads of times in the arcades when I went to theme parks and places like that. Think Altered Beast was the first game I ever really got into

Shadow Warriors <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/VEylPAsm8d4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/VEylPAsm8d4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/QUOTE said:
