so you'd know all about those vamp killers, ya. are they as interesting as their tv introduction makes them out to be?

I don't want to give anything away, but they are cool and have a role to play later on. The lead vamp killer, Mr Quinlan, is one of my favs in the book. Him and Fet are two of the most popular characters in the books, IMO. In the books though, I don't think Quinlan was introduced until the second novel. Defintely not as early as he has shown up in the tv series.

Finally caught up. Show's pretty badass. Between this, Hannibal and TWD, it's nice to have some good quality horror on television.

Just finally caught up with this week's episode last night.

Nothing about Nora is appealing. Not the character, not the actress...please kill her off. Yes, I know they won't, but I can always have hope.

Setrakian and Zack were great, and the flashbacks continue to work well. I was glad they kept the whole thing with his hands as well.

As to the Master, yea, he was pretty dorky looking. However, that might be on purpose. For those that read the books:

It's been quite awhile since I read them, but wasn't he in possession of some huge dude's body back in the war? He was some European nobility that suffered from gigantism, as I recall. The weird, goofy look might be on purpose, so that when he posesses his new form in New York, he looks all the more badass...

That is how I remember the books as well. Since he is going to take over another body (someone we have already seen), but I won't spoil it here), there was even less need for them to show us what he looked like back in the 1940's. Regardless, I am moving on and focusing on all the positive elements of the show.

It is not a possession/evil spirit type of thing. I may have used the wrong wording in my previous post. It is biological in nature.

Yea, that's probably the wrong word...

'inhabit' is better than 'possess'. As I remember, it has to do with the worms and the altered biology of the human to vampire, and the collected 'conciousness' of the worms.

But yea, it's all more scientific/biologic than most vampire stories.

That's pretty much it.

The body isn't the master so much as it's the blood worms that inhabit the body. The body is just a host for the collective consciousness. Hence why he is able to control other strigoi that he has infected as they are his blood worms that are passed on. So he can control them, see through their eyes and even speak through them.

I believe he chose sardu specifically for his gigantism because of the power it would hold. Because of the regenerative properties of the blood worms, it healed his physical ailments.

Andre had big hands but overall his proportions seemed balanced. Along with large hands if you look he had a huge noggin. I know it's a small nitpick, but it was just something that stood out to me more so than the design of the face.

That was a pretty boring ass episode . I don't know if they were trying to establish some sort of emotion or special connection with F's wife, but it didn't work for me, I don't get why they did it. It's obvious there is a connection between her and the master , but following her through the whole episode was pointless. Worst episode so far.

I don't think it was pointless. I haven't read the books, but It seemed like this was setting up something.
