When the series aired I was put off because the 'Deer Boy' creeped me out.

The other day I re-watched Krampus. Reading up on it and its actors on IMDB afterwards lead me via Stefania LaVie Owen to Sweet Tooth.

So I decided to give a try. It was in the second episode that it really got my full attention, and like a good book I couldn't put it down until I'd finished.

Creepy 'Deer Boy' actually became an endeering character through little moments, as when he answers Rusty's mother about whether he bites, or when he reacted like Rusty's dog when he scratched his ear.

I'm pretty sure I missed that it had a post-apocalyptic setting when it first aired, so that was a bonus.

The story was well told with the various characters eventually coming together, and the mysteries starting to unravel.

There is one jarring thing: Bobby.

Gus and Wendy are very realistic hybrids, but Bobby is so much more like a cartoon animal that he feels out of place. He's cute though. :lol
