my recent sculpt:

Hermann Goering
(Pics of Him)
and the reference pics I used of him:
ref 1 - ref 2 - ref 3

Done as a private commission requested by a feller.

being the ignorant person I am....I started the project not knowing a single thing about him,

but then I did some research when finding some additional reference pictures,
and found it to be an interesting read.

Supposed to be of him in his early days in the Reich
He was the Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe and senior Nazi.

Information about him :

thanks Mark, steve, and xenoviper! :D
this one's a private commission so no public castings but i got one coming up(already finished) that i might offer up for castings if i can get the time, lol.
anyone else notice the new forum banner up top lol!

I have no point of reference to compare that head to, so I can't judge it's accuracy... but I don't care.... because even just as a human headsculpt... it's AMAZING! Another piece of excellence there :bow

THAT is a likeness!

That AWFUL released 12" figure, with that big round Curly Stooge headsculpt, comes to mind....and YOUR's Daniel, IS Goering.
You nailed him! Bravo.

That in prog stuff is SO COOL! :bow
What do you use for your eyes? A plastic bearing? Glass? What is that?

Amazing sculpt work!

Thanks a lot LES!
I jsut saw that one femaile sculpture you did, that's another jaw-dropper. I have yet to sculpt a full body, but you're an all-around pro.!

oh, the eyes;...AIRSOFT BB's!
haha
but watch out for them.
for some reason, mine must've melted in some parts, or maybe teh superglue behind it, and created some problems after I baked the piece.
never happened to any of the ones before, so I think it might've been the superglue to hold the eyes still.
I love the airsoft bbs, but it's sometimes a pain to perfectly make them symmetrical in depth, , side by side, etc.

Not a bad idea!

And thanks about the female figure.
Still smartin' over her loss!

But anyway... :lol

Yeah, I enjoy sculpting when I have the time. I just need so much more time for that. That one was made ten years ago! Now? Wonder how long I would take....:D

But yah, you need to try a figure! Let's see a full head to toe Bruce Lee, the Sunohc statue! The cut chest shot from ETD for example, would rock! You'd sell that one for sure. And you know you could do it! :D

A private commission, supposed to be based off the 18 inch NECA Marv figure that had already been done.
The patches have yet to be added(if requested).

Incredible! You are extremly talented! what type of sculpting matiral do you use? And how do you get it so smooth in all those tiny areas?

to sculpt a bruce lee statue is a dream for me, ;)
one day (maybe this summer)i will.

katkuru, thanks a lot for your compliments!
I use super sculpey clay, but you can even smoother and crisper with wax.
I use turpentine to smooth it in some areas witha bbrush

anyone like...?
I had this done a while ago as a portfolio piece
but didn't show it off till now... personally i think its my best one yet lol, but I don't know about likeness.

and should take some other pics of it,

but I was wondering how I should do the braids to make it a bit more castable. Maybe there's a string I can just use (that has braids)?
