That will change over time. The vast majority of the US version on eBay that are attempted to be sold for ridiculous prices aren't selling. As the one's who are willing to pay the $7-800 range are dwindling, the profiteers will have to drop their price. The Japan version which has the same edition size as the US already is down to the $500 range.

The demand for the US version is greater then the Japanese version. I believe people want the sheath intact to the statue vs having it loose.
