I thought the chemistry was great. They will probably end up being a couple. maybe to create some tention if Luke goes the "no attachments for Jedi" route when training her and Rey is torn between training and Finn.

I hope the relationship remain platonic......relationships typically bring down these films. Han and Leia's was very subtle so it worked.....Anakin and Padma's was too much kinda became a distraction.

Seems like it could go either way. Both great characters though. Really, I loved all the newbs. I figured I'd be ''yeahyeahyeah can we get back to Han Solo please'' but that wasn't the case.

I thought the two had great chemistry. Pretty clearly set up to pursue a romance.

Seems like everyone is already in ESB positions for the next movie, though, so they will likely be separated for most of it.

They had good chemistry. I'd say more than friends...he asked her if she had a boyfriend, and that scene with Han giving him relationship advice suggests more than a friendship, imo.

I thought he looked cool with the long hair, but for some reason I was expecting that scene to happen at night, not in broad daylight.

Then again, I wanted to see more of Luke, like him saving Rey and Finn from Kylo in the last battle. Right after Kylo beats Fiin and he's about to beat Rey, her powers are awaken Goku style...but it's not enough to beat someone like Kylo who has training, so Kylo beats the crap out her, and as he raises his saber to deliver the final blow...he can't do it, something is holding him back, and he's confused like he doesn't understand what's going on, suddenly out in the darkness a green lightsaber ignites and we see a silhouette. Kylo is force pushed away from Rey and he's knocked unconscious. When Rey goes to see who it is, it's too late...he's gone like a ghost. Then, in the end, she goes to that island and finally meets him, not because she used so map thing...but because he called her and he guided her to him. He should be that strong.

I saw this last night and here are my thoughts:

Overall I liked the movie. I loved the characters and the character development. Kylo Ren may be the most complex villain we've had in Star Wars and I look forward to finding out why he fell under Snoke's influence (and who the heck Snoke is). Rey is by far my new favorite character, I thought she was amazing.

I did not like the death star/episode IV ending rehash. I was also disappointed in Captain Phasma after she was so prominently featured in the advertising. I'm hoping we get more of her in the next movie.

My biggest gripe after I left the movie was Rey being able to use her force powers with no training. However, the more I thought about it the more I'm convinced that Rey was trained by Luke as a child. Once Luke became aware of Kylo's turn to the dark side he blocked Rey's force powers/memory and hid her on Jakku for her own safety. That would explain why the guy with the map piece was also conveniently on Jakku (he was probably there watching over her). It would also explain how Rey could use her force powers so easily once they were "awakened" (also explains the movie title ). Luke put R2 into hibernation until her powers were awoken and it would be time for Rey to find him to complete her training.

It also leads me to believe that Rey is related to Luke. I don't know why else he would choose to save her. It would also explain why Rey and Leia embrace like they know each other upon Rey's arrival at the resistance base when they hadn't met each other at any point in the movie prior to that.

I look forward to the next movie answering all the questions I have. I'm also curious as to what is going on with the government. Are they just staying out of it and letting these two factions battle? Or do they not have an army so they are just supporting the resistance financially to protect them?

I was thinking along the same lines regarding Rey's history, etc. We shall see!

That's an interesting theory. It's like Professor X blocking Jean Grey's powers and erasing some childhood memories....until the Phoenix power was awaken.

I agee...I have no complaints about the battle even ok with certain characters role

That's an interesting theory. It's like Professor X blocking Jean Grey's powers and erasing some childhood memories....until the Phoenix power was awaken.

It would explain why Rey's first childhood memory seems to be when she was left on Jakku. Doesn't seem like she remembered anything prior to that.

Everyone that's assuming Rey is related to Luke is assuming that

she was hidden on Jakku after the massacre at the Jedi Temple. But wouldn't it make just as much sense to assume she could have been hidden since Jedi are not supposed to be in love or have children. Yes, Anakin does it anyway and Luke has no council to answer to but it would still make sense that he'd want his padawans to focus on training and not falling in love and he'd be setting a bad example to have his own child running around the Temple.

What good are jedi anyway, honestly. Seems like there's always gotta be someone who turns to the darkside and ****s everything up. I'm thinking everyone would be better off if no one at all was trained in the force. Dooku turned on Yoda, Anakin turned on Obi-wan and now Ren turned on Luke. Just forget the whole Jedi enterprise, it's not worth it. Let armies and fleets protect peace and justice in the galaxy.
