I don't know, they already spent Tyrese's major comic spots, the gym (which I'm guessing his car escape was supposed to mimic and his "epic" fight with Rick, which was reduced to nothing on the show. TV Tyreese is a shadow of his comic self I could see him not making it back. Maybe he'll make it back with a runny nose and Carol can murder him in his sleep.

My money on Tyrese, he can't go back to prison with Rick knowing Carol was the killer

The doc must serve another purpose, why introduce him just to be canon fodder
