So does anyone think BigBadToyStore etc will be able to fill their pre-orders of Scotty and Sulu? Scotty has gone from Feb 2020 to March 2020 but that seems ridiculous now.

I do not think they will. But if they do, the quality may be in question, in my opinion. Sulu especially is not likely to see the light of day from what I have read discussed here.

The Sulu head sculpt is considerably different than ad photos and falls way short of the others. See post #5145 for a photo. Does not look anything like him, me thinks, and in fact lacks any character whatsoever. I suppose if you are a completist you might want to have him to complete... an incomplete crew. But again, not likely to see the light of day again, unless you’re willing to fork over big bucks for an initial release on eBay.

Took them 2 years and couldn't finish Firefly Mel. Their knowledge in 1/6 didnt gain anything new since 2015, but chose to follow the same failing paths as Traid Toys (a failed bankrupted California based 1/6 company) and lack Traid Toys connections in production.

They are not a specialized 1/6 Company but a You Do I Do and assume everything can be done like QFig and a through Trading companies which are also not a specialist in 1/6 (toy makers. We ARE NOT TOY makers but hand crafted COLLECTIBLES)

So, I've been collecting this line from the beginning and haven't missed a release until Sulu. I've had a preorder in for him at BBTS for a long, long time now, and I'm pretty sure it will never fulfill. Am I completely out of luck with finding one of these? I thought it was odd how quiet QMx has been about the line... and then I started reading this thread this afternoon. Oh man. :(

So is the problem BBTS or QMx for not putting out current/correct info?

Thanks guys.
With the Aussie dollar now at .57 USD, lowest level since 2002, I've cancelled my QMX Trek. Kirk, Spock and a chair will have to do.
Glad I pre-paid my Hot Toys preorders in full because there's no way I could afford the Endgame horde now.

Sideshow shows June to Sept 2020 as the expected arrival. I?d think if QMX had outright canceled the figure they would have told their resellers.

Delays yes- I think they will be forthcoming...

Anyone know why (or have a notion why) Kirk/Spock are still in available numbers but not the rest of the crew? Wouldn?t a re-release be warranted?

I finally put my re-release Kirk up and I think it looks really good. The uniform is even realistically the slightly greenish tinge of the actual costume.

Forgive me if this was covered at some point, but is there a list of the definitive changes between the V1 and V2 Kirk & Spock figures? I have the V1s, but I saw a picture of the V2 Spock that surprised me and appeared to have much better paint apps?

But they did, at least here in the UK, the message from QMX was to refund as their was no figures available in the forseable future. I don't know if you have been keeping up with all the messages in this thread but Nanjin who supplied QMX with their figures stated that the hardware ie molds required to make another batch run of figures are languishing in a factory, hardly the act of a company that genuinely care about honouring their pre orders.

It is my belief that QMX purchased the Trek license because they kept their eye on upcoming Kelvin timeline movies and hoping the movies would be successful and they would profit from this by not only releasing crap like Q-Figs but that there would be enough people to buy the more expensive stuff like 1/6 figures, I think the original TOS figures where just a stop gap or if you will a fanbase momentum until the real profit making figures arrived.

A slight divergence from the topic of the TOS figures.

I'm working on a TOS helm console to go along with the captain's chair (one I made and the QMX one). Has anyone found any references for good color matches for the various parts of the bridge stuff? My homemade chair's gray is a little lighter than the QMX version. Also the red/orange of the helm console sides and railings?

It also looks like there are more than one shade of gray, floor, console bases, etc. Just to make it more confusing.

Being confined this weekend, I hope to make some significant progress on my helm.

I think all that stuff is subjective. I doubt that anyone has swatches or true references of actual 1966 bridge colors, and if they claim they do I would be very skeptical. I would think that the best reference source would be your monitor as you are watching episodes. And of course video output will vary on every monitor or device. My thought is whatever looks right to your eye is the best outcome here.

Let's hope that one or more of these retailers looks to sue for breach of contract and for loss of reputation caused to the businesses through QMX inability to keep to their agreements. Because if they have been telling these firms that they are being produced when they are not and they don't even have the moulds then that would be a fraudulent breach and they could be open to multiple suits for evidential damages, keep those emails from them guys for the disclosure stages.if they do and they win it could also have on impact on future pre-order legislation re being a stated case.
