Hey all. Some online friends and I came together to push for Sony to release the deleted material for Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3". I've become the unofficial leader of this movement lol. I wrote an editorial on ComicBookMovie.com detailing the more significant deleted scenes of the film. An interesting read if you're not familiar with the story:

It'd be fantastic if you guys could sign the petition. I know they're not exactly a guaranteed success, but it can't hurt to try.

There are also Facebook and Twitter accounts for the cause. Links here:

If there is anybody here who feels particularly passionate about this goal, I'd love some more ideas for spreading the word and pushing forward. Support is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because they believe it would make the movie better. The closure comes when they find out that's not true. :lol

I would be interested in seeing it, but reading the summary of the apparently deleted scenes doesn't make it seem like they would improve things fundamentally. If they took out the stupid dancing emo Parker stuff, and changed the entire ending around somehow, maybe that would be an improvement worth paying attention to.

they could definitely fix Venom and give more weight to the Sandman Character. Specially if you see the daughter tell him to stop fighting.

That sounds like such a BIG moment, explains the ending, reminds us that Sandman was thinking about her all this time. I would love to see the sand caste scene.

I love SM3!

Can I just add that's the worst spelling of 'guaranteed' I've ever seen :lol

I always screw up somwhere lol

I do actually agree to an extent. Sadly a true SM3 minus Sony's meddling is impossible. Raimi would never have touched Venom at all if he wasn't pressured into doing it, and the changes to the script to include him harmed the film more than an extended cut could entirely fix. There are scenes that I think would add to the film though.

I like the first Spidey boogie, got a little too much by the jazz club. When it comes to cutting things, that what the art of fan-editing is for, but it'd be great to get the deleted material if only for curiosity's sake imo. It'd give the editors more to work with.

Having recently read the novelization, there is a TON of other scenes and character beats that were interesting. I kept the above list down to things I knew to be shot with photographic evidence, but who knows what else is on the cutting room floor.

Signed just cuz I'm always interested in DelSce's.

The movie could be good if:
1) there's was no Venom (no symbiot, no Brock);
2) Sandman wasn't involved in Ben's death;
3) Harry was given the same treatment as his father - double persona and total craziness.

Unfortunately that didn't happen and 3.1 not gonna fix anything.

Even if you get the deleted scenes you still have to sit through the soap opera memory loss and actual hipster ****** spiderman. People call Garfield a hipster... this clown in 3 has emo hair and goes to a ****ing jazz club. :lol
