Just saw PA. Good film, but overrated. Not that scary, but then again hype may have ruined a lot of the experience. Overall a well done film though.

I think it's the hype. People have been coming into work and saying how scared they were and saying you have to go see it. I think at this point it has become a status symbol to go see this movie. It is the in thing to do. Which is what I figured when I original posted at the beginning of the thread. Perfect marketing!

Now whats even more interesting is seeing peoples faces after they spend 5 minutes telling me how scary it was and I say that I saw it 2 weeks ago. They look really disappointed. I'm telling you this movie is not scary at all IMO. It is perfect marketing. I still give all the people mad props that were involved in the making of it. They did great with what they had.

It's retarded. They also have to have police at the house it was filmed at now at all times because kids are going there trying to find a demon. RETARDS!

I just watched a video of an alternative ending for this movie. It had it's merits, but I think the actual ending was an improvement. In the original...

Spoiler:

It shows Katie smiling at the point where she says "I think we'll be OK now." in the movie. Then the night shot where she gets up an watches Micah for 3 hours and 15 minutes before going downstairs and screaming. Then as in the movie, Micah runs down stairs into the waiting arms of Katie-The-Demon-Hottie. Then the footsteps on the stairs (not as profound as in the released version, nor are the screams from the fight) and instead of Micah being thrown into the room, Katie enters with a knife in her hand and the blood all over her. She sits, rocking against the bed the entire next day during which, her sister calls to check on her but gets no answer. KatieDemon continues rocking against the bed until dark when her sister comes to the house to check on her and finds Micah dead and runs out of the house (by the way, you don't see any activity downstairs as the camera stays on Katie in the bedroom). Then later, the cops come in (explaining why the SDPD was thanked in the credits) and the light in the demons room goes on and then off as if the demon left Katie and went back to it's lair. Then the cops come upstairs and find Katie who recovers from the possession and runs to the police for help...unfortunately with the knife still in her hand...prompting the cops to kill her (and it must have been real cops because of 2 things...the credit to the cops and the lousy acting of same, which I am sure is the reason for that scene being changed).

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I was reading an interview with the director of this movie in the latest empire and he said hes already started work on another movie. Again from a point of view from a camera but this time apparently in area 51. He said hes going to have around a $5 million budget this time though and that he wanted to do what the blair witch directors couldn't and make a directing career out of this.

I like the sound of the area 51 idea.

Sounds to me like he's trying to follow in their footsteps. They just made a similar Alien type of movie.
