It's been good and bad for Barris...for a while, at least, he's been able to capitalize on owning Bat #1 but DC has kept an eye on him for many years-they haven't *owned* the car itself, but that hasn't stopped them from acting as though they did. So he hasn't been able to produce '66 cars himself anymore. ('Confiscated' a few, and gave his blessing to several, but didn't build them himself.) Mind you, the man responsible for the customization of the original car has been run on a tighter rein than anybody else.
Without going into details-we hope to be given the chance to honor Mr. Barris for his place in Bat-History.
