Because I only have two Hulk pieces--Savage and the SS Premium Format--I can't fully say, I suppose. But the Savage Hulk's face isn't well painted. It looks pretty cheesy, which is too bad because the o really sculpt and paint look awesome. I'm happy with it, but I'll admit that the face was a bit of a letdown to me. Still a nice piece.

The variant beats the reg Savage hulk IMHO....I did not like the Savage face either...but still nice in it's own way...I'm done with my Hulks unless Sideshow does a Hulk vs original Wolverine piece...I'm gonna actually sell my SS Hulk PF

Why don't you just buy the Bowen original costume Wolverine, and display them together. Sideshow has him for sale for under $200.

I saw the Savage JUST the other day at my LCS and it does look very good, and deserves some love. Now I won't be getting it because I am probably going to pic up the Hulk Maq and this is a third of what I need for that, but I won't say ANYTHING negative here.... It is a GREAT looking Hulk statue!,

First post here... just wanted to give the Savage some love. I was very hesitant to purchase it based on some less than flattering pictures I saw... but I found a great deal on it and decided to jump. I'm VERY pleased I did. The statue is massive, heavy, solid, the paint application is great, I love the color and the shading is fantastic. I have seen the Comiquette and I honestly don't like it. The detail is great, but the pose is so unnatural, and goofy looking... I'm just not a fan. I don't like the face sculpt either.

The face sculpt on the Savage was my biggest concern, but in person, it really just looks great. The pictures you see taken super zoomed in, and from a top-down perspective are extremely misleading. Almost like the person taking the picture tried to find the most awkward angle to take the picture from.

I really only started collecting statues about 2 months ago.

My collection thus far consists of:

1. Hulk - Bowen: Savage Version ($180)
2. Captain America - Kotobukiya: Classic Avenger ($120)
3. Iron Man - Hot Toys: Armor Unleashed (incoming) ($150)
4. Juggernaut - Bowen: Museum ($140)
5. Sabretooth - Bowen: Street Clothes ($118)
6. Wolverine - Bowen: Original ($160)
7. Beast - Bowen: X-Men Version ($130)
8. Gambit - Kotobukiya: Danger Room ($150)
9. Jean Grey - Bowen: X-Factor ($125)
10. Cable - Kotobukiya: Fine Art ($70)
11. The Green Reynolds - DC Direct ($30)

I listed the prices I paid for these because of the posts I read earlier.

I read a lot of posts bashing Bowen and saying how for $100 more than the Variant Hulk you could have had Skaar or the Comiquette... but I'm collecting 1/6th statues primarily do to size/space restrictions.

The truth is that I've picked up all these statues at what I consider to be great prices and that the most expensive statues I purchased, Savage Hulk and the Original Wolverine, only cost me $340 combined.

I saw people talking about lack of detail in Bowen Statues... I feel like the statues I have, except for maybe the X-Factor Jean have a pretty solid level of detail. The Kotobukiya statues seem to have some finer details in there... but the Sabretooth, Wolverine and Beast are all incredibly detailed.
