The only exposure I had to an Iron Monger figure were those 6" scale ones sold at Toys R Us and Target. lol This will be a million times more superior.

Have it, plus 4 others. Long before I found hot toys.

Btw the small one.

$6.99

Hot Toys

$500.00/$550.00

Even a shorter transformer like Bumblebee would be nearly three feet tall (i.e. a little less than twice Iron Monger size). Optimus would be double that again...

Licensing would also be nearly impossible. I don't really see Hasbro cooperating in licensing their characters to another toy company.

I never want to completely count out HT doing something "crazy" (Iron Monger and the various era Batmobiles for instance) but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for this one.

Let's just be happy we got the Monger :clap

I already collect Masterpiece and Classics Transformers a long with Hot Toys. Unless HT could make one that transforms I doubt I'd be interested. That being said, while Hasbro does license Joe to Sideshow, I couldn't see them allowing someone else to make TFs. One reason being that Takara is also owner of the TF franchise and the original manufacturer. Sideshow's Prime was impressive but honestly for me the draw of TFs is their transformations and duality.

G1 for life! lol

Also...Monger can't come soon enough. Good thing I have Masterpiece Sideswipe to hold me over untill then.

I just collect the ones from the 80s and the big ones from the new movies. I don't remember what they are called off hand. I do have to say the bigger they make them the better they look.

I never saw the 6" Mark I in retail. Was it short-packed or something? All I remember was seeing tons of Iron Mongers as peg warmers.

Sorry I just took a look (and picture). Seem I have just the 3.75. I never did see the Mark 1 (then again I would never have bought it). I also never seen the 3.75 Iron Monger (if anyone wants to sell one PM me).

I will be happy to get this one. I have to say, all the cost aside. I have to say I don't feel they cheap out on any of the Marks or Iron Monger (On what I have, The Mark 1 being the best of the lot).

Hulk will pale like a plush toy next to this machine!

All due respect, but you gotta have Hulk in the mix when you're talking Marvel movie greats! Besides, don't you think they'd look great facing off? I know it says IM is 17.5 to Hulk's 16.5, but does that include the leg extension we've seen? They look to be a decent match size-wise.

Though I will agree that alot more effort went into making this piece and it shows. All the amazing detail and functionality they've managed to squeeze in to this baby is a new benchmark for HT. A must have, IMO.

What Hulk lacks in engineering and detail, he makes up for in sheer force of character. Don't you pass on him! :thwak

They're is a iron man hulk buster. I like to see that as a 1/6. I have the 3.75

:lol

Well, we'll see when the time comes.

My plan was to get Iron Man, Hulk and Loki for "Avengers"... but I'm thinking I'd rather have this now than Hulk on my shelf. So maybe Mark VII and Loki is enough. :D

sharing..

After the long wait, finally it arrives..

This figure definitely catches you attention, even though it causes
pain on your wallet, a massive amount of pain ...the figure deserves attention on a massive scale.
Just couldn't let it pass away.

Hey, it's the IRON MONGER for pete's sake, been waiting for this sucker for a year and now its
here, it's wouldn't be fair to let it just pass from your palms and store it in your toy cab or
any place you wish to store it and let dust and cobwebs enjoy the damn thing...so hear goes...

PACKAGING
A major upgrade done by HT on the packaging. Instead of the usual
thin walled plastic cushion, a robust styrofur enclosure is being used on this figure.
This helps to ensure the monger is well secured. The box dimension is at a whooping
15"X19"X6.5". It somehow dwarfs the standard HT packaging if the usual 12" figs. It
weighs approximately 2 .5kgs (i think) and the carton box comes with its own handle
for easy carry..

ACCESORIES
I guess this wasn't expected, accessories are just too few to mention. The Oadiah head
sculpt, a necklace for Obadiah, two detachable booster for the left and right leg and
supersized "ex-wife".

There are loads of instructions on how to "play" along with this figure. Just don't get too
excited and start to twist and manhandle the poor thing. There will be lots of movement and
articulation, just read the manual, it really helps.

If you claim it in the HT shop, It's noticeable that there are staffs on the shop with
a loose IRON MONGER figure. They will help to demonstrate the features of this massive
figure.

Re: <> IRON MONGER - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Now the Fun part starts..

We start with the back portion first. It really is an awesome sight to behold all
the ball joints, universal joints and "hydraulic cylinders". These things really works! Truly an
engineering marvel in itself!

8157778692_4a9bfca2bf_z.jpg

The back plates on the back opens easily, the left part houses the missile launcher
which is very cool since it is retractable. In order to retract it, you have to open the
upper plate firstm there are joints to flip the plates, but just add some TLC (Tender
Loving Care) while opening these plates.

8157795586_8fc4035842_z.jpg

Be very careful when extracting the shoulder launcher from its hidden state.
It caused me 20 minutes to pull it off. When the launcher is extended it
tends to hit the horizontal cylinders directly above it. What i did was, i slightly
pull it towards me, just enough to free up the extendable launcher and slowly
pull it.

8157761879_3e59fa2933_z.jpg

The missile can be inserted from the back of the launcher, this requires a force fit.
Again a dose of TLC wouldn't break anything. The launcher can be swiveled at a 360 degrees,
but when i did that, the part becomes too loose to rotate already, nevertheless it's still quite
good.

On the left compartment, open the plate and you can see the battery compartment for the chest and eye LEDS.

Re: <> IRON MONGER - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

CHEST PART
The chest part is a marvel in itself. Opening it would require 2 hands.
Slightly pull the plates, you can feel a counter force but no worries,
just slowly pull it downwards.

8157793562_d4b18e309a_z.jpg

8157793292_ce3f9448e5_z.jpg

Once the plates are down, slighly pull the chest part (reactor) and slowly pull
it downwards, the whole circular part will go along with.

8157793056_6b83e69d00_z.jpg

Once its down, you now open up the head part as shown the photo.

8157791928_03d6391401_z.jpg

You can now install the necklace and headsculpt. Just make sure the head us properly
placed so that when you close the head enclosure of the suit, the head sculpt won't get
any scratches.

8157758209_951d1b07b1_z.jpg

Closing the figure will be to lower the head part first.

8157757675_a77354c365_z.jpg

Then the reactor and the side plates.
