Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I was just at Toy Hunters as they were un-boxing this figure from the master cartons. Too bad I couldn't get one cause I didn't pre-order at their store.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah, I had to take a break from the Indy thread too, since it's way out of control. The sculpt looks much better now and actually looks like Ford, but folks are still whining about a couple of bad pics.

:rotfl The Indy sculpt was not changed at all. I'm glad though the Supes sculpt was. I guess you can't win em all.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

For those who haven't had their fill of pictures yet -there are people who've pulled the figure apart and are selling off the parts on ebay. There are some reasonable pics of the head sculpt in natural light.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Toys-S...858?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336d234c02

Can't believe these guys are pulling them apart and I'll be waiting another month and a bit before I get mine. NUTS!!!!!!!!

Oh the horror..lol.. I guess the profit margin on these must be better being sold in pieces. $100 for the head, $100 for the body, $100 for the suit? $50 for the kryptonite, $50 for the crystal base..etc.. If they can pull it off, more power to them..

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

While I agree its pretty brutal parting out something that has just been released, it's one of the best things about the 1/6 hobby - you can buy parts and customize - long may it continue

$50 for the Kryptonite, try over $100, that's what I just saw on ebay. And the suit been sold without the trucks. Those are being sold separate. :thud:

I've just seen the Indy pics. That is an ABOMINATION.
SO, SO glad I'm a Superman fan and not Indy.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Ha haters are gonna hate. I'm hoping my Superman arrives shortly. I really can't wait. I love some of the comments on this thread, makes me laugh "I can't see Christopher Reeve in this sculpt" etc, haha what are people on about? I wonder if the people making these comments can't afford the figure so are just bitter. I love it and think the sculpt is spot on. Ah if only they'd do a Zod figure next.

Haters. Visit the Indy thread, it is nothing but hate. You'll find many of the same members who whine about multiple hater posts in this thread going to the Indy thread making multiple hater post. Yet somehow it is justified because they don't like the Indy sculpt. The Superman thread is much more reasonable. Gotta love this site :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Can't cease to be amazed at how many difference photography does (combined pics from evilbay).

As if it were two different sculpt...

I'm just going into that thread because it is hilarious reading all the justified hate. Then come over here for the justified love. Hot Toys broke even I guess and so did Arnie Kim over the two sculpts. One great, one terrible.

Obviously the way it really looks in real life is somewhere inbetween those two pictures.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I love Indiana Jones and Superman characters in equal measure.

I ain't hating....yet! need more pics.

But it's bizarre that Hot Toys went foward with Superman and wend backward with Indiana.

Hot Toys takes two steps forward with Supes, then takes two steps back with Indy.....lol...

And this is where i am coming from! (see previous post)

wtf?:huh

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

hahahaha so happy! happy to know that the whiners and crybabies will finally shut up.. or i guess im speaking too soon

Well, in fairness, out of the 2 camps - those who were happy with the proto, which included me, and those who weren't happy with it - its likely the latter - if either of them - who helped bring about the sculpt changes that everyone is now celebrating. So I'd get down from that high horse.

Have you ever used a camera before with a wide angle lens? It's a simple phenomena that occurs. On the left image, you are seeing more of the image than on the right. You are seeing more of the side of the head than you would in real life and the right image you are seeing less of the image. Neither is accurate to what you will see in person. That is why I said the image is somewhere in between depending how close you are to the figure in person.

Below you can read and learn about lens perspective distortion which is what is occurring with the pictures on evilbay that look different even though they are the same sculpt.
