Is the seller based away from NA? If so, it's probably leaky abs. I'm pretty sure only NA got the DCD batch.

the abs arent flat, meaning the 2 bottom abs and the 2 top abs looks like a V going inwards.

I have no idea what you're talking about. :dunno

I used the TDK V.1 neck and shortened it a little.

It looks really awesome, but I would consider shortening it a bit more. Anyone else?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I had it shorter before, then went back and made it a little long then the shorter one (Thank baby Jesus for spare parts on the ebay). Then I measured my neck, and some of my friends, and found that a human neck is as tall as the person's fist is wide. So then I took into account the bulk that the suit would have, and made the neck so it's a bit shorter then the width of his fists are. I have no idea if that makes any sense to you or anyone, LOL.

I wonder would some of you guys have noticed that the DX neck had the so-called "giraffe look" to it, if you hadnt been a member of this board (or heard other opinions on the matter)? Some of you collectors really need to start thinking for yourselves & stop going along with fads.

No shade or disrespect towards anyone.....jus sayin' :)

Well, the thing is, a lot of these mods...though subtle, makes huges changes. Its also fun. This is a hobby after all. Its something that makes you like the figure even more knowing that you added a little something.

I myself, hardly ever do mods. But the thing though, on the ones that I do...it makes me appreciate the figure even more.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I noticed it before coming on here. I saw it upon taking the figure out of the box and setting him up. I can't speak for anyone else however.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Also I'm really ____ about figures I pay a lot of money for. If I see a problem I'm going to fix it, and it is fun........ ____ hahaha!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Yeah, likewise. I couldn't wait to get my BD Iron Man so I could do the neck/waist mods on him. It is a hobby, and it's more enjoyable when you can customize them and get a bit more involved in it.

True & I respect that. Sometimes though it just feels as if everybody jumps on this "mod-your-fig-like-this" bandwagon & everyone proceeds to nit pick away at lil things they probably didnt even previously notice until someone else mentions it.

It really reminds me of how toddlers play/interact. If one child picks up a certain toy, all the other kids do the same. If one child proclaims a specific piece of playground equipment as his favorite, everyone else claims it as theirs as well. This type of behavior amongst mature/veteran collectors is really odd to me, especially considering the majority of us here are grown ass men.

I guess I just have the mindset of an old time collector. One who in his childhood, couldnt have ever imagined having a company like HT produce the accuracy & awesomeness they produce, so now that a company like them exist he appreciates every specific detail they put into a figure while having no desire to change their stock look....

IDK though maybe Im just reading to much into the whole situation. But I cant help but notice there is alot of group-thinking going on here on the boards....Anyhoo, as I said that was not a shot at anyone here inparticular, just something Ive been noticing for awhile.. Love you all!:1-1:

BTW, all the mods look great, nice pics everyone!!!

Interesting. Would be curious to see what what it looked like with your first attempt.

You mentioned taking into account the bulk of the suit. I think a lot of people forget to do that, and it gives him an unnatural look.

Look how short the neck looked in the suit:

The reason way you see groupings of people talking about modding their figure is because that's what we do, and we come here to talk about what we've done. I don't really see any bandwagons on this site, I just see people having fun with a hobby. I would also like to point out that I'm not upset by anything you said AStar, but you shouldn't assume to know things about people you don't know.

He looked like a wack-a-mole, as if he'd been hit on the head with a big hammer. lol

I agree with some of that, but there definitely are mods that improve figures.

The DX02 cape is very bulky and doesn't hang in scale to the figure.

The lforigno cape does. The problem is that HT made a really long neck to (in my opinion) compensate for the overly bulky cape, so an accurate cape makes the neck look even more ridiculous. Thus a neck shortening mod makes for an even more perfect figure.

Generally I don't like to do permanent mods to figures for fear of effecting their resale value, but when I do do a mod, permanent or otherwise) it does make me appreciate a figure even more like monkey said. :)
