Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

My wife and I just celebrated our 6 year anniversary in Las Vegas and went to an amazing wax museum https://www.madametussauds.com/LasVegas/ I think I might have learned some tricks from looking at their amazing work it is all real 1:1 scale but I thought some of you might enjoy some of these pictures. If you are ever in Vegas check this place out! to give you an idea of how tall these people are I am 6 foot 4 inches in height.

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

Thanks plasticman, I airbrush my skin tones and use pastel chalks for facial hair. I am finishing up on a figure I have always wanted in my collection this weekend that I think will have been my best work to date.

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

The museum pics were AWESOME, thanks for sharing those!

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

Thanks Die, We had a great time there, the cool thing is that you can touch and take pictures with any of these Wax figures.

I just finished up a Grail figure that I have wanted in my collection for quite a while. I remember seeing CustomDawg's and then CPhan's version and I think that this is the figure that got me into customizing and into this fun but expensive hobby. Here he is! I used hair for his beard and hair.

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

Thanks C-Phan!

I have been painting a lot of heads lately and have a lot of figures to complete. I usually paint about 5 at a time to save paint. I just completed these (Spenser's Maximus, Willis and Sunohc's Matt M.) and next up will be Sunohc's Willis and Norton sculpts and a couple of others.

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

Hummm I'm pretty much sure that Willis has greener eyes (even if they wrote blue eyes) :

and Crowe blue eyes :

Switch the paint buddy !

Re: Menlojames 2010 customs and projects

I looked at the blueray and this ref pic for Crow and still think it is movie accurate. Willis on the other hand is more of a hazel color but I'm still happy with it. I guess I should use a Bruce reference picture that shows his eyes.

Tuco looks really nice. The weathering is outstanding. If you ever decide you want to let him go, I would be honored to get the chance. Beautiful work.
