Title explains it all, its why I havent been on the boards at all. I left on my own, I couldnt take it anymore. Is it possible to have chest pains from stress??

My bosses son who to call insane is sugarcoating it, drove me to the brink of going postal. Somehow we left on good terms but I couldnt hanle the mircomanaging anymore. You can keep adding things for me to do and freak out at the same time about me not doing them, you cant add things for me to do and not tell me about them then expect me to have them done! Then have meltdowns in front of customers cursing and screaming and expect out "Customer Satisfaction" to be 100%!!!:gah::gah::gah:

Rant over.

Anyway, Im searching for a career at this point...so the Canolli has not vanished, he will be back once he gets back on track. :wave

Life's too short...it may suck for a while but you'll find another job and one that you're happy at.

Keep your chin up.

That's a gutsy move to leave your job without having another lined up (if you live in the US). Good luck. Maybe you could do gay porn with Bodie.

When it starts to affect your health, it's time to go. When I worked at our newspaper years ago, it got so bad I was actually throwing up before I went in. I have no regrets in leaving.

Good luck!

i say consider the bridges burned.
learn from joanna...

You should have got medically evaluated as having job induced stress, so you could have decked the son before leaving, and been covered from legal repercussions.

Sounds like it was for the better.
Hope you can get an income quick buddy.

LOL at all the gay suggestions. :lol

I hear you, Canolli. I'm actually leaving my job as well after next week because. . .well, it sucked and I had had enough, and I'm going to spend my time and energies trying to get the job I originally wanted (and spent many many years in school preparing for). I've got a part-time gig lined up in the meantime from a place I previously enjoyed working for, but it was hard to turn away a decent salary. At the end of the day though, I was not happy or fulfilled, I didn't feel like I was doing work for some ultimately good purpose (there was politically charged BS dictating my every move), I didn't feel like the folks in charge had the right motivations, and to top it all off, I was in a damn cubicle with ____ty dull, fluorescent lighting that took away any ability to feel emotions--good or bad--at the office. Just dulled me out and made me feel apathetic.

There's something to be said for financial well being. But ____ it. You live once. No use wasting time away doing bull____ any longer than you have to, I say. Even in a cruddy economy like this there are jobs, and I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy if you just keep looking and plugging away.

Look, just because Bodie has found success and joy in his chosen career doesn't mean that everyone else would. We should keep in mind that people here aren't all interchangeable automatons. We have different interests and preferences, and it may well be that Canolli would rather become a CPA or manager of McDonald's or something.
