I know I’ve been ragging on Hot Toys hard lately and we’re all sticklers for accuracy, but I do think Hot Toys “cracked the code” so to speak with their DX12 and QS001 Batman figures. That’s back when they were pioneers. People forget, but before the DX12 and QS001 came along, the suit builds were just rubber encasements. Hot Toys actually took the time to make proper segmented plating over a fabric suit and all five figures (DX12, Armory, DX19, QS001 and QS019) have costumes that have held up beautifully . . . AND can be posed. No company before or after have accomplished this since.

Dudes like OT_Customs try to call themselves “figure makers” but that’s just cowl, neck piece printouts and capes. Everyone’s TDK/TDKR figure, I don’t care how modded it is, has the DX12 or armory or DX19 or QS as a base. To crack that code with all those intricate pieces ain’t easy. We can get flustered about the shoulder pads, knee pads and the like, but at the end of the day, if Hot Toys didn’t make those climbs, we wouldn’t have very good TDK Batman figures.

HT were awesome when they tried. I have fond memories of my early days of collecting HT.

Also, I doubt any of those weapons are gadgets are functional. You can see the 3D printed resins that they’re working from in the video.

Forget about nunchucks, collapsable sticky bomb guns, etc.

This is a 1/6 scale statue. Makes me wonder now, DOES Joker have a fully articulated body underneath?

So…people are truly satisfied with this Joker??

This picture illustrates one of the concerns I had…a small face (or head).

Whoever posed these figures…yo, that person did a **** job. It looks so goofy.

It's going to take more than just a couple of pictures with a really crappy pose to determine if I'm satisfied with it. That said, whoever did pose it really went out of their way make that head scratcher.

I think they were trying to distract from the fact that their batman and armory are crap.

If you think about it, it's not that surprising that the batman is just a statue. Their 1/3 Cavill supes is fully sculpted and so the body looks like a cartoon. Along with their Reeve and Pattinson. They don't seem to be confident in their ability to make actual complicated suits even at 1/3 scale. They only tailor simple suits and everyday clothing.

I'll was going to consider BW but for $800+ it's lacking. Literally dumb to make Batman a statue for FS. Sticking with InArt for both it seems and I'll keep my HT armory preorder also.

Even if I wanted to pay $2000 to get a 1/6 statue of Batman, I don't really care for the execution of it. Like their other offerings, it looks stylized--more of an idealized vision of the character than a replica of his on-screen appearance. Buying the upcoming HT armoury seems like a no-brainer if you don't already have a Bale Batman. For my part, the QS019 looks better than this out of the box, and will look even better with the OT cowl.

The Bruce Wayne figure looks great, but isn't something I'm interested in--especially at JND's prices.

Honestly prices are going so high I don't even think this is fun anymore. Most of us have average income and even if I had such cash I wouldn't pay for 1/6 figure. Who JND thinks they are? Most of my figures are third party and I regret nothing.

I was excited for the potential. But with less than stellar likenesses for both Ledger and Bale, and the price…nah I’m good.

+1 on the pricing topic

Especially when you look at the direction HT is going with its Hono line, cheaper figures which, in case of Wolverine, look really good. We have to wait how the other Hono figures will be priced and how they look.

I'd have to disagree. I'm not getting this, but the Bale sculpt looks pretty great in the official pics to me 🤔 One of the best Bale sculpts we've gotten, official or custom IMO.

Now the below, on the other hand... yea, that looks bad and pretty laughable.

Bale sculpt looks great, the cowls eye shape is way too big making it look absurd.

How could you ask them to get a better likeness than that for their very first skin tone 1:6 figure?? One of the most difficult likenesses to capture no less.

Not a fan of 3D printing the Batsuit, it’s lazy for the asking price, even though that’s the pose 99% would put a TDK Batman in.

Yeah no I trust InArt will make a better version then this. Though the BW sculpt is good i think once InArt releases it's official Images it will be way more of a high end piece especially with rooted hair.
I wouldn’t count on rooted hair from them, the teased photo they released had sculpted.

In the end don't really care if this type of hair style is sculpted as long as the price reflects that.... JND put this at rooted Joker price and then some.

And damn, that Joker noggin up there. The body looks very toy-like.
