Looks like the "regular" will have that simple base and the awkward pose of stepping on the rock.
I would prefer if we could get t-rex stepping on the smashed car, even if we don't want(or can't buy) the hole diorama.Much more movie accurate.
Still a great statue though.

Or if they had used the paddock divider I think it would have fit better.

For someone like me who doesn't care at all for the JP license I was glad it's kind of a neutral scene. Although the fact that they slapped a gigantic gaudy logo right on the front ruins it, so if I get it, I would have to swap it out anyway. Not sure what I want to do. It doesn't help that I can't see **** in that dark image.

Maybe you can buy some scale foliage (ferns?) to cover the logo.

Not a bad idea. Might help fill in some of that empty space on the rest of the base as well. Good advice!

I believe you will be able to get the rex stepping on car. That is a piece of the diorama. Surely be more expensive however.

"Nothing wrong.... except the paints apps" LOL exactly thats the problem. A fantastic sculpt and pose completely ruined by one of the worst paint jobs I have ever seen. Now they are releasing a "bronze" version. They are taking all the returned or cancelled breakout rex pieces because the paint apps are so bad and bronzing them! Genius idea to make some money back.

Imagine if they botch the paint job again and someone who returned the original for ****** paint ended up returning the exact same one again for ****** paint

I heard on a podcast that actually not many were returned. Also they said the Bronze Rex is a new production, not reused leftovers.

Yikes, that paint job is sub par. Looks as bad as the CC Rex, but no surprise there. I'll probably have to pass on this, since I already have to repaint my CC Rex by hand to make it worth displaying with the custom painted resin kits I have and I personally don't need all these Rexs. It's a pretty good deal for what you pay, but unfortunately I only see it in the size category. Definitely not a fan of these stock photo images after showing what I consider to be lackluster paint and detail.

Yeah not sure about the validity of the criticism on the IS Rex paint app. It dwarfs the CC in every aspect.

Yes, a couple loud voices keep saying how terrible it was, yet it sold well and most people are happy with it. Sure it could and should have been better, same could be said about this piece. The IS one has a duller and less intricate paintjob than what CC was trying for, but that makes it easier for the factory to replicate and probably will end up satisfying more people as a result.

Paint job is better than CC but is that a factory paint job? I'm gonna call this one Wrinkle Rex. I sold my CC. Couldn't see past the freckles on the face.

Looking good so far. The price on this is very fair compared to what Chronicle are asking for their products, but it looks I'll have to join the waitlist since I already have too much HT stuff on PO to place an order for Rexy before March 30th.

Could be better I suppose, but it outshines that Chronicle Rex like the sun IMO.
