You all speak so highly of my performance! I thank you, now, where's the lager and the birds?

I don't remember the other suits being so easy to get into and out of. Maybe that made them weaker at the seams, plus the lack of sleep while making them. Sounded like most of them weren't meant to go into a fight. They all had a certain task they were built for doing. No matter, I had fun watching the movie and that's all I really care about.
Who wanted to see Hammer back for IM3.
Killian was pretty much Hammer already.
Hammer > Killian

Spoiler:the new suits including the mark 42 were works in progress that were never completed because tony's house was destroyed and he had to use the kid's workshop.
They're only weaker because that made the resolution of action scenes easier for the filmmakers. That is the only reason. The movie logic and tech that were established in the first 2 films was either ignored or tossed out the window completely in some cases. Lazy writing is why the suits are peanut brittle in this movie.
And the Extremis stuff is just so utterly nonsensical and non-believable. These were my biggest problems with the movie, not Trevor or the kid or the overload of comedy or even Tony McGuyver. Just way too over-the-top with unrealistic stuff (compared to the first film and even others in the MCU). How can you reconcile something like fire-breathing Kato Kaelin with what we got in the first 2 movies?
Spoiler:my wife saw IM3 once with me and she absorbed and figured out all the plot details. usually take me at least a couple of views. so here you go...
1- killian's motive was purely revenge for tony making him wait on the roof. he considered suicide but decided to team up with maya instead.
2- the secret to stabilizing the extremis was written on the business card. it was smudged and so they needed to kidnap tony in order to get the formula.
3- the extremis soldiers were actually real soldiers that were maimed in war. they were used as experiments for the extremis.
4- the mandarin (trevor) was an actor to keep secret the real leader of the extremis organization. this could pan out to two different explanations...a- killian was actually the mandarin as he confessed OR b- trevor played the mandarin, who was safely tucked away in another undisclosed location, waiting to return in another movie. although killian confessed, it could easily have been subterfuge.
well that's it for now. feel free to ask any questions and the mrs. will kindly answer.
Barrel of Monkeys was awesome... Until you find out that Stark wasn't even in the suit. :
Spoiler:still is awesome to me. even more so that he accomplished that feat remotely. everything in the first two IM movies was leading up to remote controlled suits. pepper's biggest anxiety was tony risked his life every time he donned the suit. that was one thing he was striving to eliminate, and that's why the suits seemed crappy. they were all still a work in progress.
I knew someone would use that excuse. It's not the same. This movie breaks "rules" established by its own predecessors, including the tech synonymous with the film's title. That's the problem.
And the aliens at least adhered to the basic laws of physics.
Iron Man 3 is about as plausible at times as a Tom & Jerry cartoon. A lot of this stuff is just flat-out not believable, even in a universe with invading aliens. That's my point.
