And as we all know, the most important thing about a collectible is how much we can sell it for later

That seems to be an issue with some doesnt it. I don't want to lose money on my items by all means but I'm buying it for my enjoyment not the $$$ that comes with it.

After estimated shipping costs, it looks to be about a $175 difference between buying direct with tax VS. an out of state dealer--with no difference in the final non-exclusive product. At this point, my wife might have something to say about it!

Not to get into the collector vs. investor debate again...but HOW is the piece so much uncooler if there are 1000 of them instead of 500?
Simple. Spending $800 for something that you could get later on eBay for $400 is VERY UNCOOL. The higher the ES, the greater the chance that paying full price for it is just throwing money away.

But isn't "enjoyment" a subjective concept? Just because you don't derive any enjoyment from knowing that your collectibles are rare and valuable doesn't mean that other people can't derive enjoyment from that knowledge.

Any guesses as to how long we will wait before the "strictly limited" edition size gets capped off and announced?

I really do hope that they had a predetermined number in mind and simply didn't reveal it in advance. Otherwise, the language that has been used makes little sense. Making it for all intents and purposes an unofficial inclusive edition by basing the ES on orders taken within a certain timeframe doesnt seem to fit the whole "quantities are strictly limited so order now" angle.

It wouldn't surprise me if we get a sudden sold out message this weekend, followed by an appropriately middle of the road edition size announcement in an upcoming newsletter.

But if it stays open for ages and we end up with 1000 or more, I am going to be skeptical next time we are urged to get an order in fast for a TBD item...

if only to stay away from the PPO madness! I too would be cautious of anything said by SS if this edition size is huge... being 750 or more.

On one hand you have starving children in Africa... on the other, you have Dusty being able to keep her job... it's really up to you :monkey1

Kidding kidding... starving children in africa are MUCH more important. But that money BETTER be going to them and not some 'other' company ;)

Who am I kidding? Everyone knows that money is going towards my porn addiction.:lol

I'm definetely keeping mine for sure. I already made too many sacrifices in order to not get it.

I'm newer to this than many of you, but it would seem to me that the ES should have already been determined. Especially with such a :google pricetag. Why arent all the edition sizes posted at time of order?
I mean, the ES does affect the price. If I had pre-ordered Sauron for 300 back in the day, only to find later that
the ES is 10,000, you can bet your sweet ass I'd cancel and get it else where. You can get it for peanuts on eBay, and its one of my favorites.
I know a higher ES mean a lower price. But when you're spending $800, you kinda want some kind of assurance that the bottom hasn't fallen out by the time it gets to your door. I welcome comments and opinions.

I dont have alot of coin to spend on this, so I can ONLY buy what I REALLY like.
So I agree with cusomizer, dont necessarily care about making money, but certainley dont want to lose if I decide to sell because I want something else. No matter how much you love Sideshow, no one likes throwing money out the window.
And why cant you use a gift card on sale items:confused: Aaahhh - thats another thread.....

You do know they did that with sauron right.

This will be interesting. I wonder if it will happen like Captain America PF Ex: keep the ES TBD then cap it in the newsletter next week with an immidiate Sold Out.

If that's the case...

I hope that only applies to this order or I will have some explaining to do to the man upstairs. :monkey3
