Might make them even more valuable. :lol I’ll start the bidding at $100 for the lot of them.

Lol!!! I like it. Supposedly there’s two people ready to buy, just waiting for PayPal to show a transaction...but 2 sold via verbal commit, probably 2 available if I don’t hear back soon. I was asking 35 plus shipping.

Worked on making dials for the Sonix radios tonight.

Printed out hi res images of the dials, cut out a hole for it, and made a “glass” widow out of clear plastic.

Next I need to make the leather sleeve that surrounds the radios, and the metal wire that attaches it to the duty pack, in addition to painting the knobs a darker shade.

Anyone know if the black "brow" strips on the Sandie helmets would be moveable/removable in order to get the different looks of the Sandie helmet?

I’m planning on doing the same.

It doesn’t appear that they are glued on strips. It looks like they are sculpted plastic that is inserted and glued into a groove that’s sculpted into the forehead of the helmet. It bothers the crap out of me that they did that.

Luckily most of the TK’s have the “high-brow” so I’m only modifying 2 of the 4 that I’m customizing. A few of the TKs have standard strips that are not pushed up, so I’m making one of those, and I know of one that has a weird looking strip that looks sort of like a frown, so I’m making that as my other variant. Both “Look sir, droids,” and “Move along. Move along...” have standard high-brows, so I won’t need to modify them.

WTC what type of paint did you use to paint the pauldron black? I have two orangies, would like to paint one black myself... would black acrylic paint be ok? let me know what you used, thanks man!

I'm not a Sandtrooper guy, but I can certainly appreciate the level of extra work and craftsmanship you are demonstrating. Incredible effort here!

I went over the orange with a black sharpie first to more easily get the “heavy lifting” of covering that bright orange, but sharpies use a dark purplish-red that has a pearlescent sheen you can somewhat see when certain wavelengths of light hit it, like the blue light of sunlight, so I finished the paint job with several layers of matte black. I used Tamiya acrylic matte black (XF-1 item: 81301). I used a somewhat dry brush technique.

Hope that helps.

Yes it does thank you kindly!

Very cool job in upgrading the Sandtrooper. I missed this thread till today, excellent work!

Thanks man. Whenever I do research I see you all over the place on SW cosplay boards. I just saw you on a thread I was reading about identifying the droid part that “Look sir, droids” holds up. [emoji2]

Yes very good attention to detail. Well done!

Thanks!
