Ah, childhood memories..

Now if only Arnie did that in Commando... :lol

Always heard stories of how much of a ****** he is. I get you don't want people making money off of you, but all I hear is that he is all about the money. I have never met him so I don't know personally.

That was never my experience with him.

That was never my experience with him.

I did, I helped out with a comic store waiting for my clearance do go through while out of work. He did a visit/signing there. Couldn't keep his math straight about pricing combinations. A photo might cost $10, an Autograph $20 and for both $50. Then when approached he was very defensive. I've seen similarities at con's too. Then again, this was all before he was tied back in with Disney and doing voice work for the MCU. So maybe he was hurting for cash back then or something.

I don’t know about the math stuff or anything like that. Most the shows I’ve seen him at he had his son there doing that part. Him being deaf may play a part in it as well. Could be him knowing me as active duty marines might have softened how he approached me, not sure. But I never saw any issues and I’d spend hours with him at shows. Of course at a con like sdcc he’s not remotely the main draw As he would be at small shop event so the pressure is different I would think.

Lou is 100% a doucebag. He will always have a sign at his table that says autographs $40. When you give him your item he will tell you not that item isn't $40, its x amount(always much higher)" Sometimes he does this after he signs it and won't give it back until his made up premium price is paid.

Exactly my buddy's experience with him. One time this item was x amount. Then another item was y amount. Then when he turned Lou down, the price came down and he gave him.

I've met him several times and he is a bit of an ass. Particularly if you want him to sign something other than his Hulk photos. He tried to gouge me for $60 to sign a hat when he was selling two signed photos for $30. Prick.

why I never pay for autographs. I only have 2, one from Morrissey from when I met him at a concert in the early 90's and from Al Pacino who I met at an L.A. Casino where I was working. I know some of these guys need to make money but Id rather get a autograph from a celebrity at a chance encounter and if they're cool enough to sign something.

I don’t care about what the guy charges. He can charge whatever he wants. If that’s most peoples issue then I see why I had no issue. Didn’t give it a second thought and he was cool with me multiple times. I think a big difference between him and a lot of other people who do the convention circuit is he doesn’t have a handler or rep that handles all the business stuff and money and telling people what they can and can’t do. At least back when I used to do it a few years back. Either way, I liked him and he was nice to me, way more then he had to be.

Gladiator hulk is delayed until august. Flex pay change. We knew it was coming as HT haven’t released it in hong kong yet and it’s practically july. Hope its announced soon though, my flexpays are starting to clash (wolf pred delayed to august aswell)

When I looked at instagram this morning and saw pics of Deathstroke and not Hulk I immediately said to myself he's gotta be delayed. Shame because I was really looking forward to some final product pics.

My problem wasn't his price. It was that he was trying to take advantage of me. I told him I would happily pay the $30 and he could keep his photos but he wouldn't budge. He knew I wanted him to sign something that meant something to me and he tried to squeeze me for it. He's a prick.

Dont want to ruffle anyones feathers but i feel the same as you. I never understood the autograph craze. I had a chance to get ray parks at my local comic shop and no line, still passed. The only thing i want these rich folks to sign would be a check made out to me. ;)

I would probably feel different if i ran into someone kayacking or backpacking. Even then i kind of doubt it.

You always run the risk of when you meet one of your childhood idols him/her being a total jerk. That can really suck. I’ve been pretty fortunate. I got to meet a Redskins player I loved growing up. He was a WR for the Redskins (Gary Clark). I wore his number when I played ball and tried to emulate things I saw him do in the field. When I met him as a grown up, I was like I hope this guy is cool... he was...asked me to put his Super Bowl ring on and everything. Great guy.

I don’t collect autographs anymore. They are all in a binder now I never look at. Now if I meet someone just like to have quick conversation if time permits and take a photo.

I totally get that. I ran into Lou Reed on the A train once in NYC back in the 90's. We were the only people in the car and I just nodded to him. Generally I don't ask celebs for autographs. Especially if they're just out enjoying themselves. Personally I think that's rude. A convention is different...
Thing is, I'm a comic fan. More importantly, a Hulk fan. The hat I asked him to sign was covered with signatures of writers and artists that have worked on Hulk dating back to the 60's. I think it was pretty ****** of him to double the price once he saw I was a big fan.
