I own two HT Predators (Berserker and Tracker) and although they are not the “original P1 & P2” type predators they capture the essence of the iconic design in my display cases as Tracker is masked and Berserker is unmasked. My biggest fear when entering the HT world was owning to many of the same thing (ie. Aliens, Predators, Terminators).

That being said I am happy that the City Hunter did not turn out as good as I feared it would. It makes my decision easier as to not making the purchase. Instead I will purchase the 20 inch NECA version to add a 1/4 scale accent to the opposite side of my “Man Cave”. I passed on the original P1 version.

All is good......:inlove

The problem with that is it was static and didn't move.... If it did ride the rail without being able to swing out on the arm he'd be shooting his dreads off. :lol

Watch how it works again. Cannon comes up from the ofline postion (static) on his back canon rotates and slides forward in the grove to the front of his armour ready to fire.

Regarding the cannon/pole on the HT figure: In case people don't realize this, you CAN adjust it.

Looks like all the promo pics.

Now it doesn't.

You can even adjust it completely straight (or even mod it to remove that pole all together) so it doesn't stick out at all. But there's a problem with that. A really BIG problem.

We don't have the luxury of "movie magic".

You'll notice in that YouTube clip (and just in general ALL clips of P2 during Predator 2) that every time he uses his plasma cannon all his dreads on the left side of his head are magically out of the way. Yet in every other scene, they completely obstruct that entire section of his armor where the plasma cannon sits (when it's in firing mode).

If you have a P2 figure try putting the cannon completely straight with all the dreads pushed behind it and you'll see how ____ed up and stupid it looks.

So in this case, screen accurate isn't an option because that whole look was faked for those specific scenes. In reality, even if someone off screen was remotely controlling the cannon they couldn't just raise it up into firing position because all the dreads would block it and it would be a cluster ____. :lol

I agree about the face though. But since I always display them with bio's it doesn't matter to me as much. Doesn't mean it's ok. Just means for me, it's not that big of an issue. Completely understand people caring about it though.

Lots more P2 info in these:

This accuracy thing is ridiculous. But then again, this is an Internet forum about 12-inch dolls.

What is so ridiculous about accuracy ? :dunno

That ignorance leads to envy :lol

Envy leads to anger, anger leads to dark side... ok, we know where this ends... :lol

:lol:rotfl:lol

I just post this on HT Facebook, haha.
The comparison of the City Hunter from movie, HT new P2 and HT old P2.

Wow. Far as I'm concerned they could have just reused and repainted the old head. I mean if you're gonna recycle stuff....

mind you, they might not have the mould anymore.

Shame you didnt say open/closed mandibles because the actual mouth on the new p2 is more accurate. If they end up leaving the mandibles the same and ruining the mouth it is your fault!
