I just did the same thing! First TFA figure for me as well. Didn't want to risk losing out on this one, as it is an "exclusive". (for what its worth...)
The Jan code will be used on the TFA Tie Pilot, though. I think Kylo will last until the Feb code. (I hope...)

I really love the TFA TIE pilot, and he was very present in the film with a great sequence... but I am holding my TFA line-up to as bare a minimum as I can.

The Tie Fighter Pilot is a must-have for me. I'm sure we'll get the special forces version later on, with the red striping, but I still want this one.
I'm definitely also getting the Rey/BB8 set as well as the Finn/Riot Trooper set. Need the main heroes and the Finn/Riot set is a great deal, price-wise.
The slope would continue for me if they were to release a Han/Chewie set. Could not pass on that one. Poe as well. Geez.... That's "9" figures already!

That TIE Pilot with the red stripes on his helmet that chased the Falcon into the Star Destroyer was BAD. ASS. Not only was he maneuvering at high speed AND firing but he even paused steering with two hands a moment to twist that little dial to lock onto the Falcon and he still didn't crash. That dude was hardcore.
I remember saying something similar to myself before I started collecting 1/6, 'One is enough for me, thanks'...Didn't take long.
I suppose the Jakku trooper is the modern Sandtrooper which has always been a fan fav. Good choice

I actually like the Jakku trooper simply because he comes with almost every variation -- ammo vest, snowtrooper backpack, binoc, long rifle. Just need to pick up a loose reg blaster and I think I can make any combination short of an officer.
If money rains on me I could be easily tempted by the FO TIE and the Flametrooper. But I'd prefer to spent that money on OT TIE (HT) and OT Snowtrooper (HT).

The Flametrooper felt like he was in the trailers more than the film, but I have to have it. It's such a cool design.
At least he had one shot and did what his name implies.
Got to give props to the Heavy Gunners though, they blew up an X-Wing!
True, I wish I liked their silly gun better. Doesn't look "heavy" at all in black-and-white.
One thing about the FO: they are very fashion-conscious in their shiny silk wardrobes and color-coordinated armor.

As far as I remember these were the biggest moments of each respective Trooper:
1. Regular Trooper: Too many to list
2. Heavy Gunner: Blew up Poe's X-Wing on Jakku, fired at Finn and Poe's TIE Fighter
3. Jakku Trooper: Big close-up, opened fire on Finn and Rey, I believe one of these guys called in the air strike?
4. Flametrooper: Medium close-up, torched the Jakku village
5. Stormtrooper Officer (Red Pauldron): Escorted Kylo Ren down the ramp of his shuttle in his opening scene
6. Stormtrooper Officer (White Pauldron): Checked on Finn after he freaked out in the village, ordered him where to stand for the villager execution
7. Captain Phasma: Ordered by Kylo Ren to have her troops execute villagers, she complied. Questioned Finn about his behavior and lack of helmet. Later captured by heroes and ordered to lower Starkiller shields.
8. Riot Officer: Epic battle with Finn
9. TIE Fighter Pilot (Regular): Seen walking around Star Destroyer hangar, chases Falcon, gets shot down by Finn.

That's an excellent recap. I can't believe you remember all those moments in such detail. I really only remember Phasma's failed moments.

Well I've seen the film four times now. 
As I take in more and more viewings I like to sit back and look at other parts of the screen that I didn't focus on previously.
The big close-up on the Jakku Trooper is when Finn looks over at the two troopers and they cut to a big shot of both troopers from the shoulders up.

Then what happens....?
Does Jakkutrooper get killed? Shoot at heroes? Do anything cool?

Then they start shooting at Finn and Rey, the heroes haul ass out of the trading outpost, the troopers call in an air strike, mayhem ensues.
I like that Jakkutrooper more and more. Calls in airstrike. Chases heroes into Millennium Falcon. Reason for excellent Falcon/TIE chase. Sets Rey on her destiny with Han Solo. Reason Han Solo dies.
