I'm on the same boat, my only costumed Cap is the Avengers one, so I'm thinking about this one. Is the main difference between this and the regular release just the diorama base and the face plates?

Shield also comes "scratched" with the Battling version. Regular version also has a ball jointed head with neck instead of the one piece style on the Battling version.

Both versions are awesome to be honest. If you're looking for one to be the cap of your avengers team you cant go wrong with either one. Personally, if I had one cap I'd get regular for the clean shield. I do prefer battling version though.

If feasible, I'd get the BV figure just for the body and then pick up the sculpt with the faceplates, clean shield and the regular version base off of eBay. Then sell the shield, base and sculpt from the BV.

Anyone have any tips or tricks to remove the circle Avengers "A" Logos on the BV Cap shoulders?

Easy, use a heat gun, hair dryer or steam to heat up the stickers and when warm, peel off carefully.

A coworker of mine finally took the plunge after seeing my collection. He used to collect only action figures from toys r us.
After he bought a Hot Toy, in a matter of a month or two, he bought two more. lol.
He got in trouble with his boss...the wife.

I was just counting my collection the other day. Most of it is HT, but I have a few figures from other manufacturers. I think it was about 75 or so.
