It's a shame that they're going so cheap. I think they're great if you happened to get a good paintjob on yours. And I gotta say, the True Type kitbashes I've seen with these Han and Luke heads to make the ultimate ANH figures have been terrific. So I would think the figures would be worth something for that, since you can still be left with 2 stormtroopers if you choose to use the Han and Luke heads for the kitbash.

I would like to echo these comments and add that these are some of the nicest figures, other than Vader in the Star Wars line. Of course their quality really depends on the paintjob you receive so mileage may vary.

I'm fairly new to this, but while I'm aware of True Type bodies taht Sideshow sells, what do you mean by kitbash? (Or do you simply mean customizing?) Anyhow, which True Type bodies would be best for these figures?

This is my take: a kitbash is when you take different elements from different figures and assemble them together without much modification. In this case, you would take the Han & Luke stormtrooper heads, a True Type body and the Sideshow ANH outfits and put them all together.

Customizing a figure involves doing some heavy modifications like re-painting or sculpting or creating new clothing or accessories.

Everyone, please feel free to elaborate on this.

As far as True Type bodies, get the Narrow Shoulders body for Han and the Slim body (which is overall smaller/shorter) for Luke.

Here's a thread that discusses changing Han to a True Type:

And here's a thread that shows Luke on the slim body (along with an excellent dio!):

Good luck and make sure you take pictures!:D

Thanks, Mad Old Jim. This is quite the hobby, then!

Are True Type bodies available eslsewhere that would be a bit cheaper?

I thought the narrow shoulders body and the slim body were the same. Isn't the new slim body the narrow shoulder one, or am I missing another somewhere?

I bought both the Narrow and the Slim last week. I'm going to kitbash Han and Luke. I'll post pictures when I get them and put them together.

Just a quick question, can these bodies be used with the Stormtrooper armor as well?

Well, anyone who's seen my desk knows that was a red rag to a bull!

Here's my entry - If any other budding sculptors want a chance to win an iPhone, upload a picture before 10.30am UK time tomorrow to their facebook fan photo gallery.

(Oh, you have to live in the UK - sorry rest of the world)

Hi guys!

How much of a pain is it to remove Luke's armor to swap the body for a true type? Any risks of damaging the uniform?

Thanks!

It's fairly easy, just be careful when removing the chest plate piece, the elastic band used on one side isn't glued very well.
