Hey all, Looking for advice and/or help on a little project of mine.
I'm currently working on a Scrap Iron custom (thank you Pace, btw) and I would like to use a Cobra Viper's tactical vest. I need to somehow paint the vest (boots and knee pads as well) a reddish- Maroon color, but I've never attempted to paint fabric, let alone the kind of materials used to make this vest.
Any ideas or successful attempt stories anyone care to share?

Well that black vest isn't becoming red.

Could prolly find something similar in tan or light green and then dye it red or give it a red acrylic paint bath.

Spider should also be offering up Scrap Iron vests.

I didn't expect it to turn completely red, just a shade or two.
Does an acrylic bath harden the fabric or does it still stay supple?
Matt's so busy, hate to bother him with anything extra right now.

You'd have to paint it primer grey or white before going with the red. As a fabric, the paint would likely make it stiff, so you'd probably want to do it on a spare body so that it would be painted in the shape it was going to have to maintain later.
If that makes sense.

I was lucky and got one of matts scrap iron vests, if you can id hang on until he's back full time. Looks great on mine
I painted it to match my boots

I've been thinking about selling my entire sideshow Gi Joe figures still in the boxes. I just don't know if there is a market for them and the person would have to live near me. I don't want to go the eBay route and I'm not 100% sure that I want to part with them. So the question is if I sell them is it wise to sell it as a set(which I rather do)?BTW I have all of them.

As a set you would have to find someone wanting them all.

Splitting up would also get you full value.

I never took them out the boxes and I don't plan to. I bashed my own Joes never could bring myself to display something right out of the box. Besides it was more fun making my own

That's why you tweak them all right of the box. Cobra Black Ninja and Firefly are the only ones I did nothing to.
