That was a good game. D. Howard gets no respect from the refs though. I was laughing when Reggie Miller finally called out Harden for not playing defense.

Sterling gets a lifetime ban and a $2.5 million fine.

And he'll probably eventually have to sell the team, as NO free agent would want to come play for the Clippers if he's the owner, as well as the numeorus sponsors dropping out.

It's in his best interest to sell as soon as he can. Right now is when he could make the most that he would ever make on the sell of the team.

^Exactly. Sterling will never entice any free agents, and will never again get any type of corporate sponsorship. Not to mention the loss / non-renewal of season ticket holders, as well as ticket sales in general.

And Doc Rivers can resign and walk away from his contract. Unfortunately, the players on his team can't. Just a disgrace all around.

The information used will illegally recorded and then illegally sold to TMZ. He is most stubborn owner of all time he is not going quietly unless someone offers him way more $$$ that what he feels the value of the team. Not to mention the NBA can't legally make him sell the team as guess what he is not the only owner, his wife legally owns 50% of the team and no sanctions were levied against her and there is no way they could levy any sanctions against her.

True, no one can make him sell the team. But Sterling has to realistically believe / understand that he will be losing money if he doesn't. Sure, he'll get his share of the league's TV contract as well as revenue sharing from jersey sales, etc., but he has to understand that there will be constant backlash and nearly empty stadiums.

And while the conversation was obtained illegally, it won't matter in the court of public opinion.

Sterling wont win no matter what he does to try to keep the team. His only move is to sell. No black (prolly all ethnicities too) player will play for him and if he stays owner and doesn't let his players walk, they will prolly just protest and not play next season. He will sell, no doubt in my mind. He might be ignorant, but not THAT stupid. What would be the point of owning a team when you can't be involved? So even if somehow, he found some way to keep the team, he would never enjoy doing so.

So your saying that CP3 would give up over 21 million dollars on addition to other possible losses? While I know its easy for people to say that the money is not that important, yet he chose to sign a max contract with a team owned by a known racist. What I find amusing is that all there players are angry over words yet virtually none cared about his past actions some which were MUCH worse than what was said in a private conversation.

I also find it amusing no one cares about the potentially racist comments made by Larry Johnson.

sure he would, you don't think he could get close to that somewhere else? He would have additional losses playing for LAC cause sponsors won't touch a team run by a racist. Paul has already lost his State Farm sponsor.

:exactly: :goodpost:

Eddie DeBartolo was found guilty of a felony while owning the 49ers. He was barred from owning the team. All he did was give ownership control to his family. Sterling can do the same with his wife.

Now, if the wife wants to divorce him then he may be forced to sell the team as with the Dodgers McCourt debacle or with the way the Padres ownership had to most recently.

This is going to get really ugly and end up in court one way or another.

No he wouldn't have that chance to go else where he is under contract. He would have to sit and make NO money. Also he has not lost his sponsor, only the clippers have lost State Farm not Paul.
