Custom Kitbashed Destro 12" Figure

Sorry Nam. But there is no shame in buying that Destro. You supported the GI Joe brand, not necessarily the movie. If anything our customs will show Sideshow just how much we want a Destro figure from them

And you'll hate to hear these, but I think the movie did a pretty good job of making Destro "what he would look like if we met him today." By that I mean the fact he was a bit like Lex Luthor. More of a businessman and less of an actual fighter. The way he went about getting the metal "mask" was all crap though. His mask should be just like Cobra Commander's mask - a way to hide his true identity, and not a way to hide a disfigurement. So that part was a fail. If he had just been wearing the metal mask the whole time, that would have been a very decent version of him.

So to me, the metal mask and a three piece suit still works. His gem is just a tie pin now.

I never had a problem with the casting of Destro. He, Snake Eyes, the Baroness and Scarlett were pretty much great casting. Unfortunately, the minute those characters opened their mouths it all went to hell. With Snake Eyes, the nightmare was the costume, they should've just stormed the production designer's office and doubletapped him in the face.

But that's neither here nor there. I'm not talking to you.

I don't recall doing backflips and running around with a tambourine screaming saying it's the best thing since the morning after pill. It is what it is and it's all still ****. I still have to buy, and had always intended to buy the Resolute Snake Eyes who's coming in the ROC guise along with any other Resolute figures they pack in that packaging anyway.

I finally got one of these today. The clothes are a joke, but I do like the head. People have asked about the neck connection so I took a couple of pictures to show what it looks like. The head was glued to the neck, but it only took a bit of judicious pulling to get it separated without mishap.

Finally saw this guy today and guess what.....


I don't really care for it. It's not the really my blatant disregard for ROC stuff but the angular look of the helmet is just not for me, can't really put my finger on it any more than that. The metalic finish is nice though and I hope SSC goes that route with there's.

She stinks and I haven't really given her more thought. She'll need a complete redress for the outfit (no ideas really, other than toying with the idea of picking up a Trinity and using her clothes). So she's still stock Hasbro. When my uniform arrives for Destro (MD just shipped it yesterday), I'll get him dressed and snap a shot of him with, CC and the stock Baroness.

I wasn't able to seperate the helmet from the lower neck when I did mine so I used the lower neck in place of a HT short TT neck. I just had to build up the plug a bit was all as Destro's neck hole was slightly bigger. But it is good to know I can seperate the head from that lower neck if I try a bit harder.

And Nam, I'm really looking forward to see what you do with Destro. I've been stumped on a clothing upgrade. The only thing I've been able to come up with would be a different suit.

Alright, for better or worse he'll do as a stand-in until we get Sideshow's. Still stumped about the gemstone though. :

He was just a straight bash using the Hasbro head, a regular TrueType, ToysCity German SS Officer uniform and some Sideshow Cobra Trooper gloved hands & Pegs. At some point I'll take a heating element and brand the buckle flat so there's no Nazi symbol. The more I look at the Baroness pic, the more I think of how caca she is. If she hadn't been a B-day gift from my daughter, she would've floated off on the bay a loooooooong time ago. Eventually, I'll have to do something with her.

Thanks. I initially was thinking about keeping the suit but he didn't look right with the rest of the Cobra troops. I wound up borrowing a bit from the Resolute design and figuring how just how he'd look in today's world (to match the other SS figures). I knew that TC doesn't come with the emblems on the uniform so that rocked! Still feel bad about giving that $10 to Hasbro for ROC though. :Lol

She's not. That's the trooper's stand. She stays in her box until I figure out what I'm gonna do as far as customizing goes.

That SS Uni. looks good on Destro. Very regal.
Curious as to how he'd look in that costume with CC's overcoat.

The head doesn't look too bad on that RoC Baroness but the hair is ????. Anastasia's definitely a figure I find myself wanting more and more.

Like wide-open ass, especially with the pants. The whole leather trench deal is so "90's." I don't like it on Blade, it looks like **** on the Punisher (aside from making absolutely no sense) and it's just tooo Euro-trashy for someone like Destro.

I thought about that. But given that, I always liked the fact that Destro wore black while everyone else wore blue. It made him distinct, which is the reason I chose the black instead of the gray (which I would've dyed blue). As for the jewel, I'm headed out to WalMart tonight to see if I can find a cheap pair of dangly, cut glass ruby earrings. I think that and an itty bitty chain would work better and shouldn't cost more than about $10.

-ROC reference. Initially I considered transplanting him on a TT and using Dracula's clothes. Why not consider that route or go with something like that?
