I have to agree that Vegas is the logical move. I've heard they have a crazy big convention center there (much bigger than San Diego's) and lets face it, there is no shortage of hotels and places to stay there. As much as I like SDCC, I would fully support LVCC. SDCC has just gotten too big for San Diego and they aren't doing anything to help it. You couldn't find a place to park anywhere near a trolley stop, let alone the convetion center without paying $30+ or being 10+ miles away. The mall over near the hotel circle area was specifically stating no SDCC parking. They have a freaking trolley stop, a parking garage, and they refuse to let people park there? WTF!?! Its things like that that make moving the show somewhere else more appealing. San Diego would be singing a very different tune after they lose this cash cow.

as a vegas native, i completely agree. vegas would be a great place to move the con to. the only problem is that our airport is not an international airport and our city isn't as "family friendly" as san diego, but we hold some of the biggest conventions in the US without inflating prices 300% like san diego.

You can try again when tickets go on sale in 2013. If you get better passes they will cancel and reimburse you for what you just purchased.

When tickets go on sale again - I'll try to help you out. Let's PM beforehand and if I get a smaller waiting room number, I'd be happy to get yours.

Thanks! Rumi is going to help try as well, and I think Josh would be willing, so between the four of us, I'm sure somebody will get a low place in line. I am confident I'll get something better at the very minimum. Also, I've already been charged for my tickets, so just waiting on the barcode email now.

Really? I was not aware of that, that is good to know.

So basically when tickets going on sale again I can order whatever and if I get better tickets they will automatically handle cancelling my previous ones for the better ones I got? Just want to make sure that is what you are saying.

They did that for me this last year. I was able to get 4 day passes at Con. But when they went for sale online i was able to get 4 day w/ preview night. They automatically canceled my first ticket and refunded me. I would email them though to be sure they will do that again.

Will do, thanks for the information!

They actually stated that in the email last year when tickets when on sale, so I tried the same thing but failed to get better so I didn't complete the transaction so they didn't cancel my previous tickets.

Yeah, we will get ya something lonnie. Only way I won't be able to is if it falls on a school day. Otherwise count me in.

Sorry but it looks like you are wrong about the airport, it looks like Las Vegas McCarran is #23 in the world for volume of passengers in 2012 so far, with San Diego not in the top 30. The family friendly thing I can understand though.

In terms of convention space and hotel rooms I believe Las Vegas is #3 in the US for the first and #1 in the last. The rates do go up for conventions but with so many options they wouldn't go up as much. I think the main problem would be the heat, having Comic Con here in July or August would be hell when you are outside, especially for heavy costumes and bringing home heavy goodies. That being said, I support having it here in Vegas 100% :hi5:

I loved it when I went to Vegas in 2008 but your airport is particularly tiny & any kind of delay there is a right ball-ache
We were delayed 3hrs coming home & I'd already been there for 2hrs before the flight was due I was going mental by the time we got on the plane...there is the sum total of feck all there.

Aside from that though Vegas is the best place on earth bar none.
Had an absolute blast & I'd love to go again :pray:

I think what's not being thought out completely is this:

Let's say (and I'm making this up) that SD's con center holds 150,000 max. And that's what SDCC is selling out at. It's crowded and we have our complaints.

BUT...

Let's say that LV's con center holds (and, once again, I'm making this up) 250,000 people. It's naive to think that the demand for SDCC would not fill it. I'm pretty dang sure it would sell out wherever it is.

So then, you'd have a con center filled at a capacity of 250,000 instead of 150,000. I think that's worse! The amount of people you'd fight through would be just as bad because although the hall is bigger, it'd still be maxed out.

At least in SD we don't have to also battle 100º+ weather as we go from place to place to meet up, eat and party. Plus, in SD, we can walk most places. Too hot and too far to walk to places in LV, esp after walking all day in what is a *larger* convention center! :horror
We'd have to cab it everywhere which is costly and time consuming in the massive traffic that all the cabs would create outside the con center.

:lecture

I now have an extended cab truck, so you wouldn't have to cab it anywhere, at least not while I was sober. :rotfl

Might be quite a walk to parking though.

And why would you be sober? :dunno

But my point exactly. In 100º weather, walking through the huge parking lot of the con center and then through the huge lots of the casinos can be exhausting.

If the Con was held in Vegas I'd NEVER bump into any of you Freaks since there is so much to do there. It wouldn't be Comic Con, it would just be more Freaks in Vegas.:)
