Asmus Toys : Aragorn thread

Goes to show how much Asmus is improving. When aragorn was done by ACI, people were caling it perfect, now we see lots of people agreeing that the asmus face sculpt is superior. A mix of the two figures would give the perfect thing. I hate the ACI body, switched mine, but also I still enjoy the accessories and clothing by ACI. Here's me cheering for Asmus.

The horse looks good. Did you customize that too or is that the stock Asmus brown horse?

That's the stock horse - I just put some of Aragorn's stuff on him. He's pretty awesome. And big. My only nit is the color - I think Brego was more of a bay and the asmus is more of a chestnut.

I think you're right but still looks great. I have the Nazghul on steed and Mouth of Sauron on steed ordered.. not sure I can swing another mounted character but I really am tempted after seeing your pictures.

Yeah - I have the mounted ring wraith from Asmus, and not sure if I could swing for another mounted figure either, but after buying Asmus Aragorn this week (have ACI) and seeing your photos, I'm thinking that it might just happen!

Thanks guys! I have to admit I kind of freaked out when I opened the box and Brego was the size of my cat. I guess I hadn't really translated the scale in my head. Once I got him in a detolf it was all good. I love the way Jackson handled the horses as real characters in the films. Now I'm tempted to get Shadowfax as well for when Gandalf comes out, although it would break my one movie/one shelf rule. Such problems ha ha!

I think Asmus will eventually release a Black Gates set of Aragorn and an armored Brego. A lot of collectors will want one to go with the Mouth of Sauron.

I finally got my Aragorn from Asmus Toys, and definitely is a great figure, I'm very sattisfied with it. Congrats Asmus, the stuffs and dio make the figure even better.

Finished a new Version 11 of my Aragorn with tibetian Lambswool today - Thanks cman !!

I used the Eric Sosas head (from Mr. Toy) which I think is the best likeness, dremeld it and I tried to apply real hair, and again and again and again - now I' finally happy with the result

Final Aragorn: ACI/Asmus clothing, DID boots customized, Sideshow Cape, Custom head (Eric Sosa/Mr Toy) painted by me and added real hair

Wow!!! I need that head sculpt in my life. Great work. I've been thinking what is it about the asmus sculpt that doesn't quite match Viggo? Is it the mouth? Nose? Cheek bones? What do you guys think? I'm considering doing some sculpy prosthetic work on the asmus face to try to make it more like the genuine article just not sure where to start.
