Momoa really should be Aqua-Velva-Man.
It looks extremely CGI-ey. The aquarium at the start is exceptionally bad.
Momoa really should be Aqua-Velva-Man.
Hollywood is definitely changing in the last few years. Nicole Kidman in another superhero film
Have to say, the CGI on Mera (Amber Heard) is awful in the trailer. This might be one of the reason to bring this movie down in the box office; bad CGI? Unless, unless, it is a much younger Mera, a.k.a. Alita, the wide-eyed battle atlantian.
Too many people are expecting a lot from Aquaman. He isn't going to be getting Batman or Superman type budget. You cant take it too literally either. I'm loving what I saw and I cant wait to see it.

Warners shows up a 6-minute sizzle reel that wows: Momoa & Heard in a desert city, unlocking secrets; armored sharks & dragons galore; fight/chase between Aquaman & Mera and Black Manta & his armored goons. "What could be greater than a king?"Aquaman asks. "A hero," says Mera.
Spoiler:Quote:
It starts out with Atlanna and Tom falling in love, her being pregnant, her holding Arthur and saying that he can be the bridge between their two worlds. Over these scenes is a voiceover from Arthur saying that he is the product of a love that never should've been.
Scenes of Arthur growing up.
Scene of Mera trying to recruit Arthur. Telling him that he's the bridge between land and sea and that he's part of something bigger and to step up and be king.
Then we see parts of the quest, which looks really good and i'm super excited for. Arthur and Mera walking through the desert, him being hilariously dry and snarky, her being competent and badass. At one point, she uses her powers on his sweat because they need water to open something. We get some history and backstory on the trident and again, Mera and Arthur banter. Their entire dynamic is great.
We see Arthur going down to Atlantis for the first time and just being awed by it. Scenes similar to trailer but bigger, lusher, more detailed. Some stuff similar to what we saw in the concept art that was released a bit ago.
We move onto the conflict between Orm and Arthur, with ORM being very MAGA and saying things like, it's time for Atlantis to rise again. Similar to stuff in the trailer, but more fleshed out and again, a deeper look into the world of Atlantis, which continues to stun.
Then we have an EXTENDED and AMAZING action scene featuring Black Manta fighting/chasing Mera and Arthur across a bunch of Grecian rooftops and it is SUCH a fantastically coordinated scene. I mean, the whole hall was going nuts. Black Manta gets a lot of cool scenes and this is where my knowledge of Aquaman is severely lacking, because while Manta is fighting Aquaman, Mera is being chased by someone in a red, kind of mechanical looking suit who just runs through walls and blasts through and looks really cool doing it. Anyone there that can tell who/what this was?
Then a montage of cool ass action scenes, many of which you saw in the trailer but this one just extends so we see more of them.
And then of course, it ends with Mera telling him that he has to be something greater than a king. And when he asks what's greater than a king, she says a hero as we open up to a shot of him in his classic orange and green Aquaman costume and it is DOPE and the whole hall lost their minds.
They were building up to Darkseid with BvS and JL (originally) but that's long gone.
