My fellow customizers. I have today for you something that has blown me away. Forgive me if these have already been posted, but I found this seller from Hong Kong on eBay. He custom sculpts heads for people, as well as making ultra-realistic oil paintings. He has right now several heads of celebrities, including my favorites, that is Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Daniel Craig as James Bond. I went ahead and bought those two. The shipping for them is free. The guy (or lady) only charges for the paintings and custom sculpts, but not the celebrity heads.

Well, I've rambled long enough without posting the links. So, here's the seller's store: https://stores.ebay.com/Action-Figure-Head-Wantedyou

The only thing that bothers me about the Craig head is that it has him smiling. But I guess he smiled plenty in Casino Royale.

Actually it's a she I think, Mayling Chan. I bought her Angelina Jolie a while back and am in the middle of making a Lara Croft sculpt out of it. Her heads do seem to be a little on the small size for 1/6 scale figures though

I am SO keeping this in my favorite seller tab. Soon as I get some cash I am getting a custom sculpt of my head.

There were some complaints about people requesting a custom head to be made for $200 and if another person later on requested the same actor / actress head to be made...
she just recast the same head and sell it for $25...
Sucks big time for the guy who paid $200...

Hmmm.....

Some are not too bad.

This Bale is pretty good !

Would make a decent Bruce Wayne.

Hmmmm and free shipping until Christmas... not too bad.

True, unless you can get 8 people to chip in who all want the same sculpt. $25 a pop. Not bad at all.

I have a thing with sending money to China though. I'll be curious to see the sculpts when you guys get them.

yeah I saw the House sculpt too.... not bad, although looked better when in the small thumbnail than the full size pic.

I hate sculpted irises too.... they bug the hell out of me

I've heard similar complaints within the 1/6 community. Somebody on OSW bought a Bill Bixby sculpt and they said it was undersized. The good news is, she completely resculpted it for him & the second sculpt was better. I think she's pretty new to the hobby, but she seems to be trying pretty hard.

I have seen her charging $200 for a sculpt & once it is commisioned, she offers castings for $25. There are several ways to look at that, some people will like it, some will not. I'm just glad that they are being offered to the community. Too many times a great sculpt is kept exclusive & it just never seems fair to me. If I commisioned a sculpt, I'd want it to be shared by the artist.

I saw where she did a headsculpt of pornstar Tara Patrick, it looked amazing.

die, i'd love to see more people like you...
whos willing to pay $200 for her to make a head and the rest of us paying $25 for it :D

I was one of the first to get a head sculpted by her. The problem was she never said she would be recasting them and selling them for $25. So be it but I won't be having any more heads sculpted by her.

me too! :D

Imagine if we all got her to sculpt a different cast member of Ghostbusters, it would pay off in the long run.

Like I said, there are several ways to look at it & some people will like it, some won't. I'd be paying her for sculpting a head that I really wanted to see in 1:6, I'd also like to see other people have access to that same head as well. Also, if more people paid her to sculpt, then we'd be seeing $25 sculpts of rare characters that we really wanted to see.

With that being said, if 8 of us chipped in and got her to sculpt a head for us & we got one of us to make castings of it then it would be around $25 a piece anyways.

I've never been a big fan of people who keep commisioned sculpts so private and exclusive. If I made a really awesome head,I'd want to share it with people who are big fans like myself. I may be in the minority, but that is how I feel about it.

Are you upset that she is selling casts of your commisioned head period or are you upset that she didn't tell you in advance? I'm just curious, I saw where one of her customers had posted that he was mad because she was offering the head for $25 he had commisioned and she was offering it for sale before she even sent his to him. I could definitely see how that would tick somebody off.

Personally, if I paid $200+ to commission a sculpt, I'd want it to be mine alone. (Or at least I'd like to be the one who decides whether to recast it or not.)

My problem was I was going to recast it and sell copies myself. The reason I had the sculpt made in the first place was because I thought I could recoup the investment I had made selling casts. And yes, I did ask her for permission to do this before I used the buy it now and she gave permission to me. At no time did she say she would be recasting the head herself. Also at the time of the purchase she wasn't casting any of the heads she had sculpted, so I had no reason to think she would be selling any copies of my head. I'm not really upset by the ordeal. I normally do ask if it is exclusive only to me first. I just didn't in this case because she hadn't sold any recasts in the past...My bad. Since my head was the first recast she sold maybe I even gave her the idea....Live and learn.

yep definitly... considering a recast at $25 which look exactly the same... HUGE price difference... you'd feel cheated when you paid $200 for it... considering you have to find pics of the actor / actress for the sculptor... assisting the sculptor to refine the head sculpt so it look as close as possible... hey you paid $200 and you are actually doing some work with the sculptor as well!
Others paying $25 via paypal and wait for the parcel to arrive.

we'll just let die to pay $200 and be our saviour of 1/6th heads :)

Yeah, I just want to know who's going to get a custom nude sculpture of themselves? Not something I ever saw in my collection. "Perfect Christmas Present," though, eh?

No praise needed here, send it to the good people responsible for Frontline's "October Specials" :lol

BTW- I guess I should mention again that I'd chip in on a sculpt with some of my good friends in the hobby if we could agree on a sculpt (we've done this before with no problems) but, if it was a personal grail for me & I couldn't get anybody else on board, sure I'd pay the $200 and I'd be fine with her sharing it & I'd share it myself if I ever casted heads.

look at it like this...

-If you pay her $200, you're paying for the time and research involved in making the head from scratch & all the fine-tuning you request as the buyer.

-If you pay $25, you're paying her for a cast of a previous work. You get a pic of exactly what you are getting and any other changes will cost extra.

Less work equals less cost, having something exactly like you want it equals more work & more cost. There's obviously alot more hours of hard work involved in making a head from scratch than there is making a copy of an existing head. Once again, I know I'm beating a dead horse on these types of issues.

toyadventurer, you should still make copies available. You'll have no trouble getting your costs back within the community, especially if you're from the states & can get them to people for a few bucks cheaper.
