My Halcyon Space Jockey:

Small, but very detailed...

Looking nice. I got one of these recently and I'm just amazed by the level of detail on this sculpt, considering its size.

Yeah, I'd love to know more about how you painted that. Really amazing work.

Thanks! I based my work only the productions photos. I have not copied the work of other and I used dull colors and not lively. I'm used to color the casts of fossils, therefore, was not a big deal for me.

*I did not use paint translucent... would give the appearance of a toy. I wanted to look like a fossil.

Awesome work with the jockey. What did you used for the base color?Dull white or a more beige/yellow paint?

Thanks! The base color is a mix of brown, yellow and white. The body and the chair was 'dirty' with a mix of brown and gray very diluted. Gray and diluted red/brown for the platform and the cannon.

Ah,ok..I understand.Do you have a pic under daylight, too?Thats a good way to show the exact colors.

WOW, I hope I can paint mine as great as you did yours. Did you brush paint or airbrush it?

Also, did you fill it inside to keep it from sagging?

Nice. Thanks. I'm sure you hate hearing this, but I'd love to see more pictures of your awesome work.

I've just read in the past that the large telescope piece had a tendency to sag down towards the face of the jockey. I made sure that mine could be filled by leaving holes at the connection points, so the filler could fill through the piece.

The trick is to make it look like stone. Dirty, opaque. The real space jockey was a little shiny. But the brightness in a small model it would appear a toy.
