I put a few Whalen prints in standard frames with no problems. Anything of large size though I had done custom so I can't help ya there.

I know the assassins & the fortress prints are a weird size, but most of the prints I have are either 18x24 or 24x36

Yea I am only doing custom framing and matting for my Mondo prints. Because of that, I really don't have many framed yet.

i'm personally not a fan of matting unless its something smaller like a photo.

smaller prints I would but anything bigger like 24x36 I wouldn't.

It totally depends on the art in the print. I framed and matted my Nouveau Leia which is pretty large and it came out great

I've also seen some of the universal monster prints triple matted and they are jaw dropping:

I bought my first mat for a custom reframe job I was doing..at hobby lobby
a black acid free mat 35 7/8" x 20 7/8" came to $27! I thought it wouldve been cheaper .. I used the 40% off coupon which helped.. but I'll need to plan on those being pricier in the future. At least they didn't charge for cutting the opening for me.
