I have to wonder for those who own the current AOU version will they bite on the JH version..we have to think of the price tag .. this new JH version could shoot up to $700 . Did HT just shoot themselves in the foot :slap

It was originally $825 and that price was set years ago. I doubt it would cost less today.

I think it's actually pretty likely they do release this as oppose to the other stuff you've mentioned. They'd be leaving money on the table if they didn't.

You are always about “they are leaving money on the table”...do you even know what you are talking about...LOL

That's terrible of them. Not cool.

I thought it was only the MK42 and MK43 as it's a tight fit.
Anyways I have mine swapped head sculpt with a MK42 Tony's so I can reveal more battle damage but using the original half figure that came with the Hulkbuster.

I just jumped on it! Still cheaper than most current prices. Plus I know ill be getting a factory fresh unit. I actually purchased one for the same price on eBay last week that the seller never sent out. eBay stepped in and refunded my account. He had about 10 Hot Toys that sold in a few days. Hopefully, he will be booted off the site!... I think BBTS price was fair...looking forward to receiving it! Learned my lesson, should have never cancelled the PO!

It's nearly double the original retail. It's the type of post release mark up I expect from my local CBS, not from BBTS.

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". :wink1:

It’s a big beast to just sit around and have funds tied up in. Only way to justify that is to make large margins on it. They are a business afterall. It’s a 40% increase from retail, for a sought after and sold out product. Doesn’t seem that bad to me. I’ve seen them sell here for 1100-1200 bucks a handful of times. There’s American based retailers that are 1/6 specialists that had it listed for 3000.

It still seems in poor taste when BBTS does this. They're a retailer of collectibles, at MSRP, which should be their focus. Not trying to get a little bit of extra cash scalping a few hard to find collectibles here and there. SS is a business as well and it would sour their reputation with customers if they jacked up prices on items they carry as they became more scarce.

Bbts doesn’t just retail new Msrp figures. They are a reseller. If they only did new msrp then they wouldn’t carry 1/2 of what they do. Sideshow is a producer and distributor. There’s a large difference. I don’t see people complaining when they lower prices, or have hard to find stock they want or give huge shipping discounts. If they can’t make high margins on some products then they won’t carry them, and they won’t offer cheaper prices on shipping and other things and if they did they would go out of business.

I could understand a small markup for warehousing this for a few extra months -- but not $675. They are already making a small profit on these (as they sold a bunch at msrp) so an increase this large is just a grab. And for one figure. Just in poor taste in my opinion.

BBTS has increased the price of other items as well after the item sells out. I think one of the Hot Toys Captain America figures went up in price. But $675.00 is a huge increase. But I don't feel sorry for the person who pays the inflated price. If they wanted Hulkbuster they should have gotten it sooner.
