As with the first part it’s a watchable entertaining sci-fi with exceptional effects, but as an adaptation of Dune it’s sorely lacking with some baffling decisions made. Definitely Villeneuve’s Dune rather than Herbert’s.
Like what?

I mean sure this change I could’ve done without…

Unlike the first one which serves as a great starting point this movie truly is a cinematic masterpiece that’s gonna go down in history as one of the big ones and it does Star Wars better than Star Wars does Star Wars.

I will say though that the seams nearly bursted under all of that narrative weight of “is he or isn’t he the Messiah”, but it just held on enough to give a super fulfilling movie and conclusion.

Just saw the film. This film is to science fiction movies what the original LOTR trilogy is to fantasy films.

I think this is the film or story George Lucas wanted to tell in the Prequel Trilogy. However, this film is like a gourmet meal, while Star Wars is a Mcdonalds Happy Meal, toys included.

My only complaint, I wish the film would've shown Paul using his powers more, once he became "the one." He still was badass by the end tho.

Now I want some figures from this film. :gah:

They’re best viewed back to back if you have a spare 5 hours :lol

I watched the first one again last night and really fell in love with it. Had only seen it once before and really enjoyed it but 2nd viewing really impressed me.

Watched part 2 tonight and just got back.

It was fantastic!!!! I can’t believe I gotta wait another 3 or 4 years for part 3.. I’ll be 57 or 58 years old :(

Truly the LOTR of Sci Fi films. So Epic and huge!!

My only issue was the strong female characters. Why must woman be so good at everything in these films…. Oh wait this was well written / directed / acted film were the strong female characters were awesome and not a Disney Marvel movie :lol

Great movie. Very happy!!
